October 29, 20214 yr I got the Premium Deluxe right away in May this year and was impressed immediately. Following updates did affect the visuals like cloud pixilation and tree distance but the latest patch has me happy now. I confess that each oncoming update will make me nervous though. Like you said, right out of the box we have an amazing creation. A virtual 1:1 earth that will be constantly improved. I know I will never buy payware for this game, for me the base MSFS is just fantastic as it is. One huge "problem" will never leave: where to fly? Faced with this realistic earth where we can go anywhere at anytime the struggle with "where to go" is real. Random flight generator is great as Ive just discovered! https://fpltoif.com/random Edited October 29, 20214 yr by ThrottleUp

As far as pay ware is concerned for MSFS202, Bijan's products and support are by far my number 1 pick. For someone new to the market he has climbed the ladder and earns my respect for going above and beyond for what you pay for. I wish him success for the future and hope it's rewarding for both end users and Bijan.
October 30, 20214 yr There are so many times when I'm in this sim and I have a "wow moment". I also love how the best addons to date, are freeware. I really hope that keeps up and rattles the 3PD guys to really innovate. Why am I going to pay $140 for something that I can get for free that is just as good. Don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to certain airliners to be released, but the fact that there are so many talented people developing for this sim for free is beneficial to everyone. I can't wait to see how this thing will look a year from now. The potential in this title is limitless.

I like having something to do, and NeoFly satisfies that. I like the search and rescue, firefighting, banner towing, etc.

October 30, 20214 yr Author So... I bought FT Las Vegas, and set off on a flight to Denver. Kudos to FT for a fine job. McCaren looks fantastic. Half way to Denver, I realize that I will be landing at a default KDEN. I know, it's "enhanced", but still... So... I hop over to Flightbeam and what do ya know, they're having a sale. So I also bought KDEN, KIAD, and KPDX. lol... I spent more on airports today than I did when I bought MSFS. It was another awesome flight. Loving the night environment. Whatever they've been doing after SU4 worked. It turned MSFS from a gamey feeling FSW sort of thing back into something that feels like FSX and P3D but with killer graphics, no stutters, and better airplanes, It ticks many of the boxes of what I have been wanting for years. Now I gotta fly that flight in reverse out of the new Denver. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

October 30, 20214 yr Author I'm impressed. Last night, I started my return leg from FB KDEN (looks great!) to FT KLAS. About 30 mi. from the FAF, I started dozing off. It was 1:45AM so I decided to call it a night. I hit <Esc> to get to the menus and then used Startmenu - Power - Sleep and went to bed. Woke up this morning and came back with a cup of coffee. I powered on my computer, logged in, switched to MSFS and hit <Resume> at the bottom of the options screen. MSFS picked right back up where I left off. There was no reload time, reading of the disk, etc.. It was just like every other time I exited the options screen and went right back to flying. That worked most of the time with FSX / P3D, but usually struggled to get going again. I've seen something unusual 2 flights in a row now. At some point either just before, or early on in the descent phase, MSFS is (on it's own) sending a message to ATC "changing" my destination to where I am already going. ATC approves it, and the flight continues. When I landed at KLAS after this happened, I was directed by the ribbon to a parking space on the apron instead of the gate I chose earlier. When it happened going to Denver, I was directed to a different gate than I had originally planned for. Anyone got any ideas about that? i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

You picked a good time to revisit MSFS...welcome back! Thanks! And I do believe you are correct. I've played every version of FS that ever existed from ascii graphics to today. I think MSFS is the version that I always wanted. "Every location on the planet" - check. "Awesome lighting" - check. "Smooth performance" - check. "More realistic textures" - check. And there's more to come. It's a good time to be a simmer. 14 hours ago, Waldo Pepper said: The H145 luxury variant has deployable floats, which I think is cool. Puffin has added all the obstructions that were missing. All the smoke stacks, radio towers, nuclear plant cooling towers, power plant and factory towers, etc. They all have obstruction lights, and the smoke/condensation effect varies depending on the ambient air conditions. Since the area is so flat, those features are visible for 50+ miles and as landmarks they redefine the area. Edited October 30, 20214 yr by Waldo Pepper
October 30, 20214 yr Great thread. MSFS has taken flightsimming to a whole new level, clearly. There are certainly still issues to be dealt with, but this baby is here to stay and will only get better and better.
