I run in VR on a Quest 2 and it looks and performs very well indeed after SU6. The “it’s garbage” review is 11 months old?

 

 

What am I looking at? no need to tell me how MSFS looks, I have it with a better PC than you. Yet it actually proves my point from 2:10 until you climb back, looking at photogrammetry looks so blurry/melty and the whole lighting is just wrong on their facades plagued of mesh artifcats

If you are happy with this quality then good for you, I'm not, I prefer my art assets with at least 10X higher texel density and with actual channels to react with lighting and weather, this includes the tiniest details as mail boxes, antennas and traffic signs.

Some of them are even quite nice screenshots, still generally way overdoes it on the AO tho.

yeah, realistic physics simulation is very hard on the CPU,

What I said will happen, just happened, surprise! People who come here from their MSFS section are not really interested in a discussion and having a hard time keeping it civil, this is is why Avsim rules should be enforced even in the x-plane section instead of pinning a post calling us all hostile.

I think it´s not that - it is the unwillingness to accept that other people have other standards and preferences.

It took me a while to understand that someone can use a Flightsimulator that has taxiway light fixtures all over the middle of inaccurately named taxiways or not being able to easily set visibility to a specific value - but I now accept that this is not a high priority to many folks and that they are not bothered by that.

Who am I to call them lesser for that? They are enjoying their simulator of choice, they discover features like the irrigation near the Nile or someone writing "I want to marry you" in a corn field and couldn´t be happier about it (I would just use Google Earth for it if I wanted to). Who cares if manifold pressure is not correct or some obscure instrument does something odd?

I would also not mind to see those things in X-Plane...but not without giving up on the manifold pressure thing and other aviation intricacies in return 😉

BTW, the above mentioned forum is owned by a diehard MS fan, but meanwhile it sank into insignificance.

Compare your REP loaded study level $$$ XP payware with the PMDG DC6 and your point goes down the drain.

Time will tell, rka. If X-Plane folds up because MSFS is just so much better in all regards, I will be the first one to admit it´s inferiority. Just reading along on the MSFS forums over the last year(s) does not make me worry about that, though 😉

Maybe you could just clarify which XP11 stock plane models manifold pressure to your liking and otoh which comparable MSFS stock plane falls behind in that matter? Genuinely interested.
