Without much of a fanfare, and probably eclipsed by the excellent Athens release a few days ago, but it interests me, as I will be going there on holiday next year hopefully, and the end of the runway is basically the San Martin of Europe.  

Expensive though.  Only a few pennies less than Athens, but they say you also get the whole island modelled.

I look forward to Corfu next.

If you're not after the whole island, then this is available for free. Haven't tried it yet, but have been there irl and this looks pretty good.

Yes it is excellent for freeware actually.  I also had some earlier versions from flightsim.to, and there were even two Skiathos packs you could merge in the early days.

Obviously, and as you would expect, the payware has the edge.  The island is important to me personally, so I will go with the payware version.  Other areas and airports, not so much, so I use the freeware ones from flightsim.to.  There is some absolutely incredible stuff for free over there.

Out of interest, what did you think of the island IRL?  Was it for a holiday?  Did you get to stand at the end of the runway?

I hear Greek airport perimeter security is very strict. Been a few arrested for taking photos etc…

On another note, I was due to fly to St.Martin and one week before an massive storm/hurricane destroyed the island and airport, so I never did get to see it in its prime. 

while Skiathos is in deed one of the greenest greek islands, the OrbX version is too green and there are too many trees/bushes around the airport:

True!  It seems I am trying to turn a half French / Dutch island into part Spanish as well!

Yes, they need to exclude a lot of those trees.  And the small line of them in front of the runway on the right hand side. 

A bit more rubber / tyre marks on the runway would make it look more realistic as well when you compare it to your the picture.  (sorry - I meant to reply to @turbomax - too much LDS )

Answer to the two views

Tree's.............................Tree's...............In the area RED there are NO tree's , bushers yes Tree's NO.

The Blue area I can understand the area in the green again would be better as bushers not tree's.

no airport/terminal interior, no transparent glasses in Tower nor terminal. thats all greek to me.

mostly only for (outdated) or defunct military airfields 😊. it wasn't the case the years I was in Skiathos (once upon a time, the old LDS years 😊) , you could nearly walk onto the runway, only an old rusty fence there. we stood there with our motorbikes right under the approach path by the old harbor. mostly turboprops like Olympic Airways Shorts 360 and extremely noisy YS-11s landed there back then. those were the daily twice a day attractions in Skiathos. you could only fly there via connecting flights from Athens national airport, no international jet connections. this all has changed for the worse, and now Fraport (Frankfurt Airport) owns this once sleepy iconic greek airport.

Definitely not at Skiathos - BigJet TV were only there last month and filmed this...
