I'm on a fairly decent and somewhat older box, 7700k + 2070super and I notice no difference tbh.

Hmm. Maybe I'll run some of the built-in cleanup / verification tools within the manager and see if it makes a difference.

You're getting 0 fps hit with 100% traffic injection? Do you have all the flightplans installed and at what airport?

There is a 5-15fps hit when I've tested @ 100 at a number of different airports (on a 5900x / 3080ti).

5-15 at 100 is pretty good considering the AI hit we are "used to" in other sims...

I run at 60fps so it isn't much of an issue, but someone running 30 may think otherwise. For 100% injection though, I consider that drop fair (especially if the models are still a WIP).

My tests were at EGLL, OMDB, CYVR and LSZH.

Yep, 60-55 no big deal, 30-25 horrible... Agreed, pretty fair drop considering!

Absolutely. And that's with WIP models during a beta. Pretty good indeed 👍

It's not even half that complicated, I bet you did a lot more stuff trying to fix the clouds after SU6 or whatever. But I understand that it seems complicated. That's what originally kept me away from AIG on P3D several years ago, and I still regret that mistake.

See installing is just those steps:
a) Copy the downloaded folders from AIM and TC somewhere - no matter where.
b) Open AIM, set the folder path for TC. (MSFS community folder is being found on its own).
c) Choose - let's say 20 airlines -, click on "bulk install". After a couple of minutes it's done. Close AIM.
d) Open TC. Set the path to the community folder. Ready to go.

I'd even challenge the fact this has more clicks involved than installing Simple Traffic. You can literally download 1000 airlines by clicking three times and holding SHIFT once.

I'm just saying it's free, and Simple Traffic is not out yet, so no harm in trying it out anyway.

I have not tried to install it, but I can see that this list is missing at least the '-MSFS2020' string mod entry that is mandatory.  So doing just these steps alone will not work and can lead to confusion.  I love your outline structure though, if it could be expanded and made 'bullet proof' it would be what a lot of us are looking for.

I beg to differ... Politely, I hope. If (IF) you only have MSFS installed, the -MSFS2020 flag is not necessary. Which is the case for me.

Also, I believe that if you do have other sims installed, when one starts either of the AIG programs without the flag, there is small drop down on the splash screen to allow you to choose which sim you wish to use for that session. See Bad_T's video which shows that.

Of course, if you only intend to use AIG with MSFS, but have other sims installed, then using the flag just makes it simpler to get going.

For example EGLL is within AI spawning range of 2 other big airports (EGKK, EGSS), at around noon there's about 240 aircraft spawned, I drop from 55-60 to 30 FPS.

Tell me one can filter that down to reasonable, right?

I thought you were not interested in AIG 😉

Anyway, it's coming, the AIGTC interface already has a placeholder for it.

With AIG you lose all GA  AI aircraft. Thats unacceptable. From what I read AIG make changes in the Official folder. You dont want that. I will buy Simple Traffic.

Yes, that's a bummer, I will wait to to install AIG until they have fix this and use Simple Traffic in the meantime.

To each their own.

Your lack of understanding of what is transpiring in the background and why it's not all in a "baby wrapper" is evident but your opinion is your own and I'm not here to argue it.

GA is being worked on LOL.  It is a Beta...  What changes does it make to the official folder?  It is all in the community folder from what I can see but I could be wrong.

I will say some of the comments here signal a high bit of entitlement in terms of expectations and to that end AIG probably isn't the product for those individuals so good thing ST will be here to meet their needs as well.

The drama is about the traffic.bgl file which will be renamed to off lol that's all 😉 Going also the AIG route...

there is a simple fix. Just tell AIM on startup to not disable the default AI traffic file 😉

A file called trafficAircraft.bgl is renamed by the installer. That would be okay if there was an uninstaller that reversed it back but there isn't.

Just rename it back yourself. It’s also an optional change. You’re not forced to disable it.

Infact you don’t need to since you’ll have AI turned off in the options menu anyways.
