SU6 was a perfect sim for me...and this?   Feel like just shutting off the lights and heading over to P3D for awhile.  SU6 was excellent.

Same sentiments here.

Kind regards,

After SU7, I was getting 20FPS on the ground at La Guardia (Overcast weather, DX11, RTX 3080, i9-9900). Turns out it was Bijan's tree mod that was bogging down my system. I removed the mod and I'm now sitting at 60FPS on the ground at LGA. I'm sure Bijan will release a compatibility upgrade very soon.

I had a similar experience not with the trees but with the terrain mask add on, I was having bad performance issues, I uninstalled the mod, went back in to the sim and the frames were back to normal, I went out of the sim to reactivate it to see what happened to my frames and they stayed steady at a good rate. This was after troubleshooting and trying a lot of things so I’m under the assumption that something was going on with the bijan terrain mask add-on but can’t say 100%.

I do notice there is a new version out but haven’t tried it yet.

I too have this issue with a checkerboard image at the top 10% or so of the screen when looking around after about 20 minutes or so.  Lost frames too.  Not sure exactly how many as they're all over the place at the minute, possibly 7-10 frames down.

On occasions it looks great but most of the time there are visual issues of some sort that weren't there before.

that checkerboard effect that you're seeing most likely means you have some addon(s) that are incompatible with the latest updates. Most likely that's a signal to let you know that.

Many threads on this forum, and many threads on the Microsoft/Asobo forum, are reporting a loss of FPS when using DX11 and a huge loss of FPS when using DX12.

None here--identical to SU6 for me.  Might be worth deleting and letting the sim rebuild UserCfg.opt and FlightSimulator.CFG then redcheck all your graphic settings.

Sorry some users are having issues, but other than some settings being changed I am running as before the update. I have not updated my Nvidia drivers, am on DX11, and using same mods in my community folder. I do not use live weather, preferring weather presets that I adjust each flight for variety. I do wish the update had not messed with my pilot settings, I did not have screenshots for reference so have had to play around a bit to get them back (lesson learned).

Hope you guys with issues get your SIM back to what you had quickly. It's still there, just have to tinker a bit I think. 🤔

I can confirm that Bijan's tree mod was the one that bogged my system also, I gain back my 5-7 fps by turning it off, I had the latest release from yesterday.

This is caused by TAA. Previously it happened only when resolution scale was set higher than 100%, now often even at 100%. The only solution is restart the sim hoping that it does not happen again or disable TAA and use resolution scaling to have anti-aliasing.

I really don't know how these people work 😞 I played less than an hour since SU7 release and I already found this, the live weather issue, the mouse settings that needed to be reset, the assistance settings reset to EASY, UI glitches (i.e. Volocopter caption) and other small issues... in less than an hour of casual gaming. DX12 then is totally useless, why did they even put that option?

It seems that they just don't play the game and don't check anything.
