November 19, 20214 yr I have both a TrackIR 5 and a Tobii Eye Tracker. I *really* wanted to like the Tobii Eye Tracker and for other uses, I did. But for MSFS, I could just never get the curves dialed in to a point where it felt as smooth and natural as TrackIR. So I gave up on it and went back to TrackIR. As for the clip, I bought a wireless IR emitter from TrackHat that I attach to the side of my headphones with velcro. No added cable getting in the way. Very happy with the setup.
November 19, 20214 yr @Sethos Great thread to start! Very relevant. They might fix up Track IR with a hotfix quite soon (hopefully), but I feel like I want to try something new anyway. I will be watching this thread with interest as I need to do something. Edited November 19, 20214 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. November 19, 20214 yr No one has mentioned it yet, but this update seems to have broken TrackIR. You can no longer pause on F9 without it centering then camera, which is a bummer because most of the time, it’s the easiest way to tune radios of enter info into an FMS. Hopefully they can fix this because it’s quite a nuisance.

Kind regards, Michael I may have misinformed and my apologies, I will update my post but you may be right, may only be an iOS and android app, not sure but maybe you can get the smooth track app on a windows device IE your pc and then link up your webcam. I was sure I read somewhere it can be used with a webcam(although I read a lot of stuff) but I will remove that reference to not misguide anyone..Thank you for pointing that out. I myself have both an android and iOS device however I use it on iOS so can confirm it works great with iOS. November 19, 20214 yr Thanks @flyinpilot212121, I might still try it using an old Android device lounging around somewhere. I had to play with the curve profiles but once I got those dialed in it’s flawless. You do have to download a piece of software that's free onto your pc so that smooth track can communicate with the sim. But once you have the software it’s 2 clicks and it works every time, never had it not work. Kind regards, Michael Just make sure your old android device has the AR capable camera I believe it’s called, if memory serves me right, any Apple device before the iPhone 8 or 6(can’t remember) doesn’t have said camera capabilities and wouldn’t work with the software, I’d imagine the same with android devices due to the early technology of older devices. I'm assuming this was previously with FaceTrackNoIR? If so, that plugin was an initial release and they don't appear to have developed it further. Compared to other sims with Tobii support built in, the FaceTrackNoIR Tobii plugin isn't at the level it needs to be. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. I was, indeed, referring to FaceTrackNoIR which was the only way to get the Tobii working with MSFS when I tried it. I agree completely with your assessment of it and that's why I ended up going back to to my TrackIR.
February 10, 20224 yr So SU8 now fully supports Tobii. Full 6dof tracking and sensitivity settings. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.
February 10, 20224 yr I stick with trackIR. Tobii with a large screen is useless. Whereas with trackIR it’s no problem.
