November 23, 20214 yr Hi, Since the latest update I have been trying the DX12, but with disappointing results. My PC is an Intel 11900 with a 3090 graphics card and with triple screens, I have been getting 30 fps in London (ultra). I dont have HDR monitors btw When I change to DX12, with no other changes, I am getting 20fps but it is really stuttering, especially when panning. I know DX12 is only a beta but have noticed that others are getting better results than DX11, so I am wondering if there is a reason why I have lost 30% fps?
November 23, 20214 yr I tried to try DX12 but MSFS2020 would not even load. Found out the "usercfg.opt" now includes a variable to switch between DX11 and DX12. it's in the Video subsection. PreferD3D12=0 is for DX11 PreferD3D12=1 is for DX12 in case anyone else gets caught up the creek without a paddle. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe

November 24, 20214 yr If you’re getting bad results with DX12, just turn it off. I know some people are claiming all these new graphical benefits, but it’s all placebo. Asobo has made it abundantly clear there were to be no expected gains, in either performance or graphics. They just added the DX12 preview for testing.

November 24, 20214 yr Yes, me and @turbomax have seen the LDS clip a lot recently! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.
