I went to your link, and I see they've posted a warning that Meigs has not been confirmed compatible with SU7. When you say you added a "z" in front of the name, where are you talking about? I'm confused. I really appreciate the help.

If you read the Comments for this addon, you'll see that the "z" is specifically to make it co-exist with the DD Chicago package.

I believe this is to make it load later and take precedence.

The OP has not indicated that he has Meigs installed, so the thread may need to get back to the original issue. If Meigs is installed it easy to see if it's conflicting...by disabling Meigs and leaving Chicago City enabled.

If you delete Meigs, DD Chicago doesn't perform any better, though the scenery conflict disappears. At the moment, I've deleted both DD Chicago and Meigs -- and I'm waiting for updates from them or updates from Asobo.

As an experiment, I flew over my DD Washington DC scenery a moment ago, and it worked beautifully as always.

I don't have KCGX and can tell you that even with my decent machine, the performance sucks. I keep forgetting to contact Stan via his forums to talk about it. Out of all of his city add-ons, this one performs the worst.

I am keenly interested.  Is a hierarchy for MSFS addons confirmed? Or is it otherwise?  I do not know but I have seen mention of it since around the first of the year (2021).  I would like to see a conclusive confirmation.  Not dissing these posts.  Just wanting confirmation.

I have no knowledge, but in this particular instance it makes a difference..

Copied from the OrbX forums-

"Hello,

anecdotal evidence is suggesting that the "rolling cache" can contain data which,

when combined with the installation of a new airport, cause either anomalies or a CTD.

It is also the case that the content.xml file is only updated to add products, it does not

update when a product has been removed.

The recommendation is therefore that before attempting to use a newly installed scenery

product, both the rolling cache and the Content.xml file are deleted.

Note: for the Microsoft Store version of MSFS default location of the Content.xml file is

C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Content.xml.

Please note:

If you cannot see the appdata folder, you may need to enable "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in your

Windows File Explorer view settings.

The Steam version is C:\Users\Your name\appdata\roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content.xml

Other versions of MSFS may have the Content.xml file in a different location."

I have some troubles with directX 12 and Drzewiecki scenery 😞 . I'm doing a movie clip with those scenery and it's very hard to get constant 60 fps.

No, I don't have Meigs Field installed. In fact I've very few items in my comunity folder.

I am interested in this as well. I am planning on picking up DD Chicago City and Seattle City before the sale ends. It sounds like Chicago may be an issue for some folks. I assume Seattle is fine?

I'have Seattle as well, but stangely enough it's only Chicago that causing me trouble with very low FPS.

Thanks for confirming. At the 50% off sale price, I will probably take a chance on Chicago since it is my home city, and hopefully they will get the issues sorted out in time.

The DD Chicago scenery is really spectacular. I'm sure performance will be improved. For me, Chicago's performance at night is the most affected. I don't own DD Seattle. But DD Washington, DC, doesn't suffer the performance hit that Chicago does.

That makes sense, I guess in the worst case I can just fly there during daytime. Thanks!
