Aaaah, that must be it: I am not a fan of warbirds. 😉 But seriously, I really loved the Lionheart Creations Kodiak back in the day but I simply expected more from this rendition. That's all. Little things like a fake ignition don't help then. It LOOKS awesome, that I have to say! 😉
December 25, 20214 yr G 1000 question. Why on autopilot, course is in GPS, I engage Nav and it says I am in Roll mode rather than GPS?

Was GPS armed (shown in white) with Roll green? I have seen the same thing on the G1000NXi in other planes. When a new lateral mode is engaged or changed, I think the G1000 defaults to Roll and Pitch ( i.e., makes no attitude change) as a safety feature in case something was 'hit' or changed by mistake. Try hitting NAV a second time and see what happens. Al Edited December 25, 20214 yr by ark

Below excerpt is from the Garmin G1000 manual: FLIGHT DIRECTOR MODES Flight director modes are normally selected independently for the pitch and roll axes. Unless otherwise specified, all mode keys are alternate action (i.e., press on, press off). In the absence of specific mode selection, the flight director reverts to the default pitch and/or roll modes. Armed modes are annunciated in white and active in green in the AFCS Status Box. Under normal operation, when the control for the active flight director mode is pressed, the flight director reverts to the default mode(s) for the axis(es). Automatic transition from armed to active mode is indicated by the white armed mode annunciation moving to the green active mode field and flashing for 10 seconds. Edited December 25, 20214 yr by ark

Bob, as Al has indicated above.. NAV mode arms the GPS mode (only), you have to intercept the magenta line to activate it. This is typically done in HDG mode, but as you found out, you can also force it by creating a Direct-To to the next waypoint. BTW, this is indeed the way the real unit works 🙂 Bert

Unfortunately I didn't need this plane in order to use that G1000 NXi. 🙄 But I'll leave it at this: no need to keep on moaning and bothering you all about 30 euro's lost with Christmas. 😉 Give it some time... it will grow on you.. 😉 Bert

If the ignition is a bug, I predict it will get fixed.. as I said above... give it time. Reminder: the compass in the Lionheart version never got fixed, and yet we happily flew it all over the place.
