I like the cargo variant as I usually explore the world with a purpose in mind using //42's Skypark for missions. For the long hauls PMDG's DC-6 is my other choice. December 20, 20214 yr I cannot get the G1000 Nxi to go into Nav mode. Flight plan is there, OBS is magenta (although not on the right course heading). What am I missing? the other thing I notice is that I have no power after takeoff, the aircraft flies ok but the gauges are all near zero and then seem to come to life after a few thousand feet. A lot not right there.. Does the NXi work correctly in other aircraft? Bert
December 21, 20214 yr Its actually a good question, maybe not, I never use the G1000. Maybe I will try to download it again. Mark CYYZ

Thanks Bert, I didn't realize it but there was a G1000 Nxi update that I had not installed. Now everything is working. I thought I was losing my mind for a while there. Mark CYYZ
December 21, 20214 yr Purchased from SWS.... site was slow but download was quick. Finally got it installed tonight, took her for a test flight. Added some right rudder trim after listening to the forums hehe. Haven't read much of the manual. Takeoff was fine using a few clicks of trim but a decent right pedal input. Picked up some icing in the climb (I'm still on the non-beta version so 10SM in haze is icing apparently). Got an red warning on the PFD about BP inlet - so I bypassed that and tried to exit the icing. I wanted to shoot an approach with vectors to final for practice but....CTD when loading an approach via the NXi. Ugh. I did not use the flight planner, and I did not have a flight plan - just a simple PROC, load airport, select IAP. Doesn't happen with other planes so it's a Kodiak issue. That's kind of a bummer. I did take some shots which I may post over at the screenshot forum later. I know that some people don't want the risk of having to reinstall, but IMO it's worth it. This beta is a pseudo SU 7.5 lol, it'll hold us over till February when SU8 comes out. December 21, 20214 yr I might get to it one day. Most of my flying is in 15-30 min windows. I tried again and same thing. Then I tried doing a Windows update that was pending since a few days ago. Loaded the same approach again and it was ok. Hopefully that was the issue. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

The manual is light on details in this areas. On takeoff rudder trim I’ve found that in most circumstances, two full clicks of rudder trim allows for a comfortable takeoff, though I have to back that off the neutral fairly quickly after takeoff for coordinated flight. I was reading a real POH and it appears to be related to icing. I switched on prop/surface to max then pressed bypass. I assume it's like anti icing system where a little duct swaps and the air bypasses the main combustion chamber. Keeping FOD and stuff out of the main blades inside the engine. But I'm not certain how turboprops work. I did finally get a change to fly for an hour last night. Yeah I use 4 clicks to the right for rudder on TO followed by a solid right pedal input and then slowly take it out as I climb. This thing definitely needs foot work and throttle management. Aside from the one CTD I'm liking the little I saw of it. I love how it turns on the ground. The best ground handling characteristics I've seen in any sim to date! I'm getting about 150 ktas down low and 170 around 10k. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
December 22, 20214 yr After testing it for a couple of days I must agree in all your comments, it is a great aircraft, I am having a lot of fun, I had a problem at first to take off more or less straight, but I already have the point, I only miss the option that the PA Turbo Arrow has, and it is that it saves the status of how you leave the aircraft on the previous flight, amount of fuel ... etc ... the same can be activated and I do not know where .. . Do you know something? A comment told me that I would not regret buying this plane, I was absolutely right, thank you all for your opinions, they launched me to buy it and I am happy to have it in my hangar i7 11800, RTX 3070, 32Gb RAM, 2Tb
