Thanks gents, especially the tip about the stby ADI.  I don't have the plane yet.  On the fence...  Seems to have a lot of character.  Textures look amazing, NXi support, great sounds so I've heard.

It is a fantastic aircraft.  NXi support is fine and the sounds are really, really good.  Hand flies very well.  Put her into beta mode on landing and you get a fantastic reverse sound with the deceleration.  The start up sequence and sounds put a smile on the face.  An aircraft that demands managing the systems and flying by the numbers.

I haven't flown the DC-6 from PMDG, but the Kodiak is the most satisfying aircraft yet in MSFS for me.

I wonder why the frame impact is hitting some and not others. I might go mess around with some graphics settings. I have everything on ultra with a 3080 Ti at 3440x1440 and I get a huge frame hit when I pop on the avionics and it's all gained back when I pop the breaker for the standby instrument like Simple B suggested.

I have not noticed a difference or needed to change anything for fps - typical that something affects some and not others.

To me, it is like getting the first "a2a plane" for MSFS.. 😉

You've got to pay attention, but it is very rewarding.

Great answer. Although I don't own this plane yet I totally get what you are saying about "getting" the A2A plane. Took me a while to figure out any the A2A planes but once I did figure them out it was so rewarding. Gotta get everything just right with them to get them to do what they are supposed to to do. Once figured out its so nice to make a perfect landing, great feeling.....

ROG MAXIMUS X HERO, Intel Core i7 8700K, 32 GB's 3200 RAM, Gigabyte RTX3080,

Thanks folks for the reviews, you are swaying me towards buying this plane. I do have a question though, I hope this is the right place to ask. I fly exclusively in VR(Oculus Quest 2), has anyone tried it in VR? I read there is a bit of a hit in frame rates and I'm wondering if it will even work in VR. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Just finish a 1hr trip and wow, what a joy of an airplane. Absolutely no issues whatsoever, non, no hits on fps either. Worth every penny. If anybody is on the fence, you are missing out for sure.

Same here. I'm convinced some just notice the hit while others don't. I have the same gpu as you and see about a 15 frame hit when the standby instruments comes on. Pop the breaker and it's right back. I asked Alex in discord about it and he's aware. He modeled it in xml and expected the hit. He said it should be fixed or at least less demanding in an update. For now, part of my xlist is to pop the breaker!

I fly it in the Reverb G2 and it’s ok for me, I have previously avoided glass pits due to the stress it causes to the GPU. The NXi maybe better on FPS too, I previously flew Milviz PC6 with glass pit and glass pits it seems are no issue anymore.

But as been mentioned previously turning of the co-pilots screen helps if you’re system is limited.

Carlos, if you say so, I'll buy it ASAP !

Aircraft are meant to be difficult to fly. Over-powered turbo aircraft are always a handful.

The fact that folks here are complaining means this is a great little add-on 😉😂. I think it's awesome: challenging, well put together and overall satisfying when you get the cheese holes to line up. 🤙

  I intend to get my cheese holes to line up this afternoon!   When I do, I intend to pop a Twiglet through them to keep them there.  Now I am very hungry.

Good news that the developer is aware of the standby instrument issue and is looking into it.  Apparently most (if not all) of the breakers work on this.  I can't wait to try it later.  I will look at doing a flight in Alaska somewhere.

Maybe i've been spoiled by the DC-6, maybe i've been scared by the JF Pipers, enough GA for me right now especially the G1000 ones.

I do want to learn the turboprop next, wondering if it bring a detailed manual to follow? Thanks.

Sorry for asking but my english isn't as good as i thought it was, what does it mean? What do exactly do I need to do? I'm about to buy that beauty and this thing of fps worries me a bit. Thanks.

The electrical circuit breakers on the lower centre panel all work in the Kodiak.

If you press the one for the back-up instrument, it pops out and turns off the power to the instrument.  It should then have a black screen, and also give you some frames per second (FPS) back so that the sim runs smoother.
If you have a high powered PC, it probably won't be a problem anyway.
