does it means it could be port over to a different simulator than XPlane without too much hurdles ? If so is it something you are contemplating at some point ? (Yes I think of MSFS)

No, it does not mean this at all (put simply).

Ok thanks for the reply and congrats for the Challenger, seems to be a very nice piece of software

@GoranMI have huge respect for the work you have done with this addon, congrats, people talks about it everywhere and from what I've seen for very good reasons.

Now I've been lurking around your posts here and there since a few hours, unless I'm mistaken it seemed to me you're not very fond of MSFS 😅
Do you guys at HotStart consider developing addons for it at some point (I suppose there's too much limitations as of yet to be able to replicate your challenger there?)  or will it be a no go?

To tell you the truth, I've abandoned XPlane in favor of MSFS since graphics is important to me, more so than to others. This and not being someone who fly IRL, a sufficiently realistic flight model is enough for me even if it's relatively close to X-Plane but not there yet.
That being said, your addon alone would be a thing that could make me consider installing XP again and devote my time as a simmer to certainly up my game and truly learn to fly as real as possible! I won't go XP again though cause most of my SSD is already taken by MSFS, ortho4XP not being viable enough for me now and can't buy another hoard of addons to make XP looks good enough but not even close to MSFS, but this is down to entirely personal choices and in no way a critic against XP.

For what it's worth, the Challenger has made for a formidable advert toward XP which has certainly garnered much more attention on Youtube since a long time!

As for the price, although it is "high" regarding most addons, I find it to be relatively cheap instead considering the never before seen level of details and amount of ground-breaking work behind this! Not only did you make the best out of XP but you even went above and beyond.

I know there's often a lot of debate everywhere about what should be called "study level" or if it even means anything at all and when or not.
In my opinion, this is the first ever addon for any domestic flight sim where this debate is not a debate anymore... which tells a lot.

Best of luck with your product! Hope to see you one day on the MSFS scene and be one of your happy customer. 🙂

@alanlj44

not knowing for sure what Goran and others close to Hotstart may answer all I can say is that with the release of X-Plane 12, and judging from what I've been able to see regarding graphics, if graphics is important to you then probably that will be yet another good reason to return to X-Plane 🙂

Even graphics wise I believe that, photogrammetry out, XP12 will do a better job overall than what I saw the last time I had MFS installed in my rig.

And if we enter the field of aerodynamics, and even weather simulation - not just the visuals but specially the effects for aviation - X-Plane is already way ahead of what MFS has to offer, not to count some of the already mentioned updates / features comming with XP12. The more I look into the MFS flight simulation engine the more I think it'll be difficult to make it come near to what I believe X-Plane 12 will bring us.

I have to correct you.  I welcome MSFS.  Competition forces products to improve.  Without competition, progress stops.  I was a huge fan of MSFS since FS98, up until FSX.  I was a tester for MS Flight.  To me, I found X-Plane was better when I discovered it in 2009.

It's not the MSFS platform I'm not a fan of.  It's the people who constantly feel the need to scream how much better it is than anything else out there.  Thankfully, those people are few and far between.  I have always been pro-choice.

Not at this time, because...

This is correct.  We've seen each update for MSFS get more and more closed off to developers.  Restricting further development.

I'll never say never, but for now, (apart from XP12's imminent release) without going into a comprehensive explanation as to why, it is literally impossible to implement the physics we have in the CL650 into MSFS.

That is entirely your choice, and one that you are 100% entitled to.

That's quite the compliment.  Thank you.

Fully understandable, and I don't take it as a criticism in any way.  We all have our choices.  Just because they are different, doesn't make them wrong.  When I'm told my choice is wrong, that's when I know I'm wasting my time in a debate.

I have seen rumblings throughout youtube, that people have come back to X-Plane because of the CL650.  Again, quite the compliment.  And both Saso and I are happy we can do that for people.

We knew the price would cause a bit of a stir (to the point of receiving insults in DM's), but we firmly believe that the value for money is definitely there.  And it looks as though the vast majority agree. (If reddit users think it's excellent value, then it must be true 😉 )

I have been flying the 650 almost exclusively for the past week. It is worth every penny!

Jenny is the woman who takes care of everything in the FBO.  She also calls you on the phone when you're flying when things need to be brought to your attention.  You can also call her if you need something.

A little feature we added for a bit of extra immersion.

How can she do that when every responsible pilot would have his phone in airplane mode?? 😆

ah ha.  We created a sat-phone.  (You didn't really think we would encourage people to use their cell phones on an aircraft did you??).  The cell phone won't work due it being set to airplane mode when the aircraft starts taxiing.

And the sat-phone works with the iridium network in real time.  (ie. It pulls iridium satellite location data in real time, into the sim) and will go out of range, the further you fly away from the satellite, until it's in range of the next satellite.

The challenger is just amazing, just amazing …..I absolutely love it….it’s MEGA!!! 😁👍

You guys are crazy for details 😅

When is the next patch releasing where it introduces refilling plane stock mechanism and passengers storming the cockpit screaming at you if you forgot to refill toilet paper rolls stock, hijack the plane and forcing you to land on closest airport (introducing a new meaning for "possible pilot deviation"!)? 😄

Well, we just put out an update that includes an impatient refueller, who will keep banging on the door (if it's locked) telling you to sign the fuel receipt.  He gets rather impatient if you keep him waiting.

I have attended formal FAA-certified maintenance training classes for the Challenger at FlightSafety and the CRJ at FlightPath (Canada). Both providers use animated emulations on a desktop PC that show the state of various systems on the aircraft - hydraulics, pneumatics, electric, pressurization, engines, etc. and show normal operation and the effects of various failures.

The systems animations in the Hotstart “study” menus far exceed what is available at either training provider in terms of completeness, accuracy and detail.
