Let’s bear in mind PMDG base model 747 is $140 and even the aged NGX is $100.

From what I’ve seen so far this looks like being in the same class.

So the price sounds fair to me.

Roll on weekend!

Sure, for a program (P3D) which is distributed strictly as a professional product not to be used for entertainment purposes. Which was also one of the reasons, if i remember well, PMDG brought up back then to justify such a price.. Imho the FBO stuff should have been sold as a DLC, without forcing the price increase (assuming that was it) on everyone.

Anyway, different people, different choices.

Wrong, go back are read the PMDG and FS Labs product descriptions again on their websites.

The FBO has no bearing on the price. It is simply the alternative to what people have come to expect with small EFB's in the cockpit of add-ons.

The price is based on the actual simulation, which is intense and unlike anything seen in any sim before. It seems some people are not quite understanding just how insanely in-depth "under the hood" this product is. It's literally like an entire flight simulator within a flight simulator.

This !!!

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

When I saw the price I thought it seemed way high based on what I'd seen so far

Having watched the last few live streams Totoritko has uploaded to his Youtube channel, I can say with confidence that this is the most advanced and comprehensive aircraft simulation we've ever seen on any desktop platform, and the cost is entirely justified in my opinion

As mentioned elsewhere, you could buy XPlane and this and it would be a good value for money single aircraft simulator - it looks astonishing

I thought the Toliss A340 would be my last XPlane purchase now with MSFS released and talk of PMDG and Fenix arriving, but honestly the XPlane platform just seems so capable compared to both P3D and MSFS that I think it will be a really compelling alernative for many years to some with V12's release

There is also the Aerobask Falcon due at some point, which now looks like the Captain Sim 777 for depth compared to the CL650

*joke*

How many children are you raising? 50 to 80 is my limit. Not wealthy.

I fail to see the relevance

I keep hearing people say this.

Could you bullet point it for me, or just highlight an example, because I also watched the stream, and while everything I saw I liked, I can't say I saw anything that really stood out as "things no one else has done".

It also seems really VR unfriendly, which is a complete showstopper for me 😞

"real" IRS alignment?

electrical systems depth?

the attention to detail not just on systems but across ground services, passenger cabin, rpg elements?

no-one has done anything that comes close to this

Zibo, LevelUp, Spark744 freeware have all that and are already out. That's not advanced and comprehensive, its a basic requirement for any XP11 aircraft worth its salt.

Everybody who cares about ground services already has GHD on every aircraft they own.

VR is supported. We just don't recommend using it for the FBO portion. Wait till you're in the aircraft for that (or just skip the FBO entirely).

In 6 hours of streams the last few days we couldn't even cover everything, unfortunately. I can assure you there is nothing like this on the market anywhere. That's mostly conveyed in the streams as you go, but definitely understandable if you don't have the time to give.

I'm definitely not saying anything critical of the aircraft in any way. It looks great. but near 100% recreation of the aircraft in question is not a new thing for xplane, ATPL only aircraft, or even other sims, its the "we've ever seen on any desktop platform" aspect I'm questioning.

We've seen IRS alignment.

We've seen excessive ground handling.

We've seen EFBs.

Having those doesn't make it "the most advanced and comprehensive aircraft simulation we've ever seen on any desktop platform". It just means its not missing things that are fairly standard everywhere now and everyone (particularly in the XP community) expects.

I suggest you go and watch Totoritko's last few Youtube videos because you couldn't be more wrong (IMO of course)

but it doesn't sound like this addon is for you from what you've said, easy to skip 👍

For example?

Posting a 2 hour video is hardly helpful. Have you watched it all? At least post a summary of the problems encountered.

It goes both ways, being overly critical, or exaggerating features.

The first few you listed are definitely not new, and will not attract those flying Zibo, LevelUp, or Spark744 on a regular basis, or even the TBM900 afaict.
