December 27, 20214 yr After my research I have found out one difference that may be important regarding which one is best to buy. I have been told that 'I would say currently the non-turbo and turbo arrow iii's handle adverse yaw quite differently. Never having flown a plane, I don't know which is more realistic' Does anyone here knows what that difference is and which one could be said to be most realistic ? The other differences really does not matter

I had the non turbo vs the turbo variants in mind
December 27, 20214 yr The real choice in JF PA28s is: PA28-161 Warrior II - by far the best of the JF PA28 for circuits, low and slow and general potting about. PA28R Turbo Arrow III and IV, great for longer trips and flying in the mountains Or get both, buying the Turbo gives a discount on the Warrior.

PA28R Arrow 3 I see no mention of discount for the Warrior when getting the Turbo. Only discount on the turbo when buying the non turbo

Only discount on the turbo when buying the non turbo In the past buying the Arrow or the Turbo Arrow direct from JF gave you a discount code for the Warrior. I assume they still do that. I have all four, the Arrow III, Turbo III, Turbo IV and the Warrior. Of those I mainly fly the Warrior, simply because it seems to have the best overall feel and flight model. Admittedly I have only ever flown Warrior in real life and not Arrows, but the JF Warrior seems to have some hard to define feel about it that is more true to a real life Piper. There is also less work to do as it has a fixed prop and fixed gear and no turbo to break the engine. If I am not in the Warrior I tend go for the Turbo III. The Turbo means it can climb over mountains which the Warrior struggles with and get up to 20,000 feet or so reasonably quickly which gets you above a lot of weather and allows you to travel long distances at a very reasonable cruise speed. It is not just it is faster it can cruise at a higher altitude which means for the same IAS the ground speed is much faster. The big difference for the two Turbo PA28 is not speed it is performance at altitude. The Turbo III seems better behaved than the IV but I mainly fly the Turbo III for the looks to be honest. I still occasionally fly the non-turbo Arrow III but it is rare. In most cases that suit the Arrow I just go for the Warrior. I think it will be the turbo Arrow. More things to do and keep track of is a plus for me
December 28, 20214 yr The Turbo Arrow is a good choice in my opinion. It is a superb touring aircraft for me as I fly throughout the American West. It has a good combination of customization, immersion and "flyability," and can get to altitude fairly quickly. You can go a long way fairly quickly on not too awfully much 100LL. Personally I will fly either the Turbo Arrow III or IV, but given a choice I prefer the Arrow III because I feel the t-tail of the IV imparts a more sensitive feel to the elevator response. But then again, that is only one opinion. I have all of JF's iterations of the PA-28 airframe and enjoy each of them immensely, but if you have the choice to get only one, I recommend the PA-28R Arrow III/IV Turbo.
December 28, 20214 yr If you have the package of Arrow and Turbo Arrow, the Arrow is easier to fly. But for instance if flying low in the alps to see the scenery and you find yourself approaching mountain all around you that you can't get over, the Turbo Arrow has enough torque to gain altitude very quickly and get you out of trouble. I fly the plain Arrow mostly, except in mountain regions. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
December 28, 20214 yr I fly with an economic model for charter flights and prefer the Turbo Arrow IV because it is faster and climbs more rapidly. When the Arrow IV was released by JF, there was a long thread about comparing the three JF models (the Warrior was not available yet). Someone who flew at least two of the three in real life (or maybe all three, I cannot remember) wrote that JF did a very good job in modelling the flight characteristics of each version. In particular, the IV is very sensitive two elevator trim. I find myself using the trim wheel every minute or so since the IV is extremely sensitive to slight changes in speed. Given that the model has a very basic autopilot that can only keep course or heading, but not altitude, the IV is maybe not for everyone. If you prefer to start your flight, climb to cruise altitude, and then forget about the plane until it is time to descend, the III might be the better choice. Peter
December 28, 20214 yr I completely agree with most here. Warrier and Turbo IV for me. The IV cause of the look and the slightly more take care on trim job. Turbo exactly because it can get higher and therefore keeping higher speed in relation. And regarding the basic ap you still have the option to enable the hidden hold altitude button for a quick food grab or toilet break 😉 Cheers T.
