In the update I made to support the PRESETS feature, I also added core labeling for actual cores vs. hyper-threaded (HT) cores.  It makes it much easier to visualize how you are laying out the masks now.

Also, not sure if this is what LM does, but the code behind the tool I have created will look for available physical cores when setting the Main, Render, and FrameWorker thread schedulers.  It will only assign to an HT core if no additional physical cores are available within the mask.

I’ve assigned all my addon programs to use the last core. 5 in my case. That’s the recommendation from @Rob_Ainscough

Yes set all your addons. Again if you use Process Lasso when everything is fired up look at your processes in Process Lasso and real-time set their affinities off the P3D assigned cores. I happen to assign all addons to 2 cores plus their HT cores. Also you will find things like Sode and GTN if you use those.

didnt work , everytime i checked back in Task manager the affinity for the addons had reset to all cores /, weird 

suppose could try Lorbi !

I have a Intel i7 11700K with HT off can someone show me what settings I need thanks I am not too flash at setting things up to old

I've got a quad core I7-7700K and have no idea about the HT.  I looked at the Job Scheduler and it was at 255 and have no idea if this is good or bad?   The machine seems to run without any issues with a 1070 card.  I'd like to upgrade the video card but I'm too cheap to pay three times the mfg. list price. 🤣

I read on the P3d website that P3dv5.3 would automatically set the Affinity Mask, is that correct?

I have noticed that the Chaseplane Affinity value maps to the P3D Affinity value.
Change the value in P3D, the CP value will change accordingly.

I use SimStarterNG and can assign an AM setting to each program in the Run section. Can strongly recommend this program.

All my addon programs - ASP3D, ChasePlane, LittleNavConnect, GIT, Aivlasoft EFB Server. The exceptions are AIG Traffic Controller and Couatl (FSDT). They're assigned to all cores because they're run as an add-on. Might need to look at launching those differently.

Changing AM for couatl64, AIG TC and SODE has further reduced core 0 usage to under 10%.

We need a way of assigning an AM to add-on programs. Seems daft they adopt the AM of P3D - all cores by default.
