TOGA news and update

May have to try this out. See the night lighting got a big overhaul. Appears mainly for EA off mode which is unfortunate but will give it a shot.

Fine and good but worthless if they haven’t fixed ENVDIR. I haven’t been able to get it to open since the December update. Even after downloading and reinstalling the whole kit from my SimMarket account. No help from their forum.

Has anyone else been able to get this update up and running. I have about written TOGA off.

New updated version was released a couple days ago. A user on their forum reported it is now working.

Hi Vic

Happy New Year.

Did you install the TOGA_ENVTEX_P3D-V5_EXPANSION (around 9.5GB) after installing the base software TOGA_ENVTEX_1.2.0_FSXP3D (also around 9.5GB?

So, close to 20GB all up, for the installation in P3Dv5x.

I had the same issues with a fresh v5 setup a few days ago and toga offered an older envdir in their support forums (while internally trying to track down the bugs) that got mine back working as a workaround. There was a lot of complaining about the crashing envdir. I will check if the new version is working later.

Cheers T.

They also stated: "That won't still affect everything (yet) with EA enabled but we'll have some extremely good news in a days time".

Looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Reinstalled everything TOGA today. Same scenario. ENVDIR will not open, product unusable. IMHO Simmarket should take these products down until this issue is resolved as the product cannot be used until the ENVDIR issue is corrected.

I fully agree, it is absolutely appalling.

A customer pays for a product that is unusable, this is not acceptable.

The only way I can use it is to delete the 'user. config' file and Envdir then opens, rediculous carry on.

You guys tried version 1.3.2.4?

Eric

I have the same issue and been trying for weeks. Used various versions (including the downgrade offered on their forum), used the repair script, installed latest version, reinstalled latest updates all to no avail. Shame, as my experience with TOGA was very positive up until now. Hope they can get it fixed soon.

i had a problem last week and resolve it, i couldn't start envdir, so after a search in my windows 11 setting, i found in windows fonctionnality, ;net framework 4.8, asp.Net 4.8 was untick, plus i give admin privilege to envdir, since all is good

I gave that a try but no joy thus far. Might need a reboot though, which I'll try next. Edit: tried a reboot and repair again, and still not working for me.

Here are the exact steps (on Win 11 Pro) in case someone would like to replicate:

  • Press Win + I to open the Settings app.
  • Next, open the Apps tab from the left pane.
  • Under the Apps section, click on Optional features.
  • Scroll to the bottom, select "More Windows Features"
  • A seperate window will open (Title: Windows Features)
  • Click on the "+" in front of ".NET Framework 4.8 Advanced Services" to expand the selection
  • Tick ASP.NET 4.8 after which an installer will start
