I've just published my preview of Aerosoft's Twin Otter if you'd care to take a look. It's pretty good, overall!

In a world the Kodiak didn't exist this would be a lot more appealing... might just look at screenshots and videos of this one.

No need to have one or the other.....just have both. 😉   They could share similar missions, but the Twotter can carry more payload on a typical mission, and is flying with a lot of airlines if you're into that type of flying.   With the price that was set and the amount of variations you get, very much a reasonable purchase!

Completely agree.....I've been having a blast flying her...and I don't even know how, LOL (She's pretty intuitive flying-wise I feel,  and a very docile and confident hand-flier.)

Just took her on a short hop....I'm also favoring the Solomons livery....and plenty of places to fly her in that region! 

Also like the amphibian, and spinning her in the water using engine thrust is fun....esp trying to replicate how the pilots in the Maldives vids dock her with such precision....I've smashed my sponson's against the dock way more times than I'd admit attempting it....but when you get it right...its cool to watch her glide up beside the dock. 🙂 

I like the short nose version, and this military paint appeals to me. 😉  And who doesn't like flying in Rio?

The Skis version is one I still need to practice more with...but yet another model included in the package....

And I'm hoping beyond hope our great freeware modders out there will find a way to add a mod to the Jumper model to show animated jumpers flying out that huge door....the plexiglass door is animated. 😉 

If I wasn't on the beta team, I'd be buying this package on day one!  In fact this is the reason I don't have the Kodiak yet, hehe...so a reverse situation to Kiwikat.  Very similar missions, and I really like the Twotter's character...a true workhorse.  😉  I'll eventually get the Kodiak, if I ever get a break from painting!

 

 

Kodiak is still useful to many, the economy of one engine versus 2, is very important ..

Hehe no doubt Bob!  I'm advocating for not choosing one, but owning both. 🙂   One can make the reverse argument that for many of it's missions, 2 engines are required for airline operations.  Either way...both are great planes...and the fact you get all those models (I didn't show them all)....makes the Twotter a great deal if you want a rugged twin for a particular mission. 😉

it is except that's where all the xbox users have to get their addons, and there are A LOT of them, which means more $ for the devs which means lowers prices for us.

As for the UI yes, but it's one click install and update, no need for licence, password and activation

Guys....we ALL know the pros/cons of the Marketplace and have contributed to spirited posts in threads specifically about it...can we keep this thread on track about the upcoming release of the Twotter? 🙂

Yep I'm with you.  Kodiak is faster, but can get into the same strips.

It maybe one click an install, but when you need an update, you are screwed. 

Classic panels vs Digital? I am a sucker for the oldies.

I have been flying all over New Guinea for the last couple of weeks since watching the Missionary Pilot, and having a blast. I just read in a post above about the Soloman Islands, and I see that should be another great place to fly. I just landed the Kodiak at AYKM, and even thought it is a small airport with one 3,000 foot runway, the approach was beautiful, and there was a marshaller waving me in, when I landed.

what airport is that? You should always mention the Airport when you review!
