February 28, 20224 yr Hey all, I was one of the skeptics of another beta which will be a disaster but I have been pleasantly surprised to be honest. The weather is much improved and metar is VERY realistic, at least where I live and other areas where I have done some test flights. there are two major things I did to get better smooth performance. 1) lock FPS to 30 and either use v synch in MSFS or use G synch if your monitor/TV has it. This has COMPLETELY eliminated 99% of stutters I can honestly say. 2) Upgrade to win11 and get all the latest drivers(been CTD free since I did this). So currently I have for the first time a stutter free smooth experience w 0 CTDs. Just trying to help those who have been struggling like I did before. It does help that I am running a 5900x , 3600 c14 ram + 3080 🙂 I really Hope Asobo does not break this sim now!! Edited February 28, 20224 yr by wiler 7900x3d , 64gb 6200mhz 30CL Ram, RTX 3080

Initially, performance was worse than with SU7, but the latest changes have fixed that. Performance is now at least as good as with SU7. Peter

Wasn't trying to be a #$#$# but all too often people who have nothing to offer chime in because they either hate the feature or offer up a little controversy. Not saying this was your intention it's just this happens in more than a few threads. Well the thread I started had 0 to do with VR to begin with so not sure why you accuse me 'nothing to offer' since I gave my free advice and experience how to get better performance. You are the one who took it into the VR sphere sir. What did you offer to the thread other then try to instigate a problem? SMH 7900x3d , 64gb 6200mhz 30CL Ram, RTX 3080

February 28, 20224 yr Just a note. I had Windows 11 running throughout the beta. I have not had any problems. (And drag and drop is coming back soon! ) But anyway, I think anyone who is running a new Intel 12000 series might be better running W11. It has certainly worked well in this beta - everything as smooth as silk. The W11 task scheduler recognises the new chip and it works very well. On my last flight, I did an 'alt-tab' out of the sim and looked at the performance page in task manager. All of the performance cores were running, but not the efficiency cores. I was quite pleased as I was worried it might accidently use some efficiency cores and lose performance, but no, it seems quite intelligent. Not sure if the task scheduler is set up for Intel 12000 series in W10 in this way, but I won't be rolling back to test . Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I tried W11 a couple of months ago and had to go back to W10 because of a weird constant audio popping/crackling issue. I'm assuming this has now been fixed? Former Child, Current Adult

I've seen very mixed reports about how well Win 11 takes advantage of 12900 cores. I was starting to regret my decision to go 12900 / Win 11 with my new PC. Even Overclockers didn't offer Win 11 as the default when I ordered. There are still quite a few Win 11 niggles but generally small stuff like the desktop wallpaper disappearing. I can live with that but it's good to hear that I'm getting the horsepower I paid for. Varjo Aero, 5090 FE, i9-12900K, 64GB Ram, RX Viper Rudder Pedals, AuthentiKit Controls + Fulcrum Yoke
