Check the fuel selectors on the floor between the seats.

Also check the fuel levels from the widget on the sim screen.

This plane remembers your fuel each time you load and maybe you need to fill up both tanks. Then after that it will always be where you left it.

Why is there a cockpit and seats at the rear of the aircraft?  Here is a screenshot looking toward the rear of the aircraft.spacer.png

It doesn't seem like the autopilot/FD is following the GPS nav source, the HSI, however, seems to show correct deflection /indication of the GPS course. I switched CDI/sources and on nav mode. Tracking a VOR though, (inbound/outbound) works perfectly with AP on. Other than that, very nice-looking airplane and flies pretty fantastic. I guess I'll just have to track VORs and cruise at MOCAs for now haha.

The nav needle on the ADF finder doesn't seem to be animated as well, it works but does not rotate to the indication.

if you download the user manual from our main website product page you will see if you add weight to the seat station 7 i think this will add the 7th seat.

First you must be within 2nm of the course to capture it in gps mode. This way you can use HDG mode to intercept at the direction you choose.

The ADF i see in your image is selected for the nav 2 radio. Was that the correct nav? I see no info displayed on the nav 2 radio.

You must own the TDS GTN750xi payware as mentioned on our product and store page. The PMS50 GTN750 version you must also have too they have a free and payware version. If you do not own either use the GNS530. Check the product page for the links to their websites. https://flysimware.com/website2019/flysimwares-cessna-414a-chancellor-msfs2020/

What is the next step if we own either of the 750 unit options

Plane is in general really fun to fly but VR is not very well implemented unfortunately at this time. As other have mentioned the view change is not ideal. If I go to outside view and go back in to the plane I am in the plane but my pilot must be about 2 feet tall as i am staring at the instruments and cant see out.

My main issue with VR though is pressing anything. For the most part I have to close 1 eye to be able to put the mouse pointer over a control/button for it to work so to be sadly honest its not flyable for me at least with a Reverb G2 at this time. Hope for VR improvements soon as I said at the beginner the plane seems great and the TDS 750 is well implemented.

Well i own the TDS and I just run its program first and then the sim and the 750 is automatically added in to the plane I dont have to do anything else.

Quick notes from a first flight:

Really nice textures, exterior and interior modelling. Feels really nice to look at and interact with. Auto mixture also works very well, and the performance at FL200 seems to be spot on!

Bugs I've noticed (TDS GTNXi version):

  • Small isse: On some click spots, the little arrow indicating the switch direction seems to be reversed
  • Small issue: The arm rest on the left seat covers/overlaps some of the switches on the left pedestal. This seems to be a different configuration than in the screenshots from the manual, where the arm rest didn't extend as far forward
  • Maybe an issue (not sure): HSI needle is not slaved to the GTNXi in GPS (NAV) mode (might be accurate to RL?)
  • Bigger issue: I can't get the APR mode to work. I've tried two different ILSes (EDMA 25, EDJA 24). Both times, neither the LOC was captured correctly nor was the GS captured. GS mode was armed, a GS indication was present and alive on the HSI and the PFD, and the GS mode went to "active" once needle deflection was achieved.
  • Bigger issue: LOC was only captured in NAV mode, not in APP mode. CDI on the GTNXi was set to VLOC, ILS frequency was correct, HSI needle was aligned to the correct course. APP mode armed LOC and GS, but localizer was not captured, GS see above.
  • Bigger issue: When I had captured the localizer in NAV mode and switched to APP mode to catch the glideslope, LOC mode remained active but the plane completely stopped tracking the localizer and drifted off course.
  • Possible user error: During climb to FL200: ALT ALERT was set to 20.000 ft and armed. Garmin 605 AP announced ALTS as armed, IAS mode as active. Upon reaching FL200, altitude was busted since IAS mode remained active and ALT mode was not engaged. Issue did not happen on descent, so maybe user error.

At least on my end, there seem to be some issues with APR mode specifically, but it might also be user error. I'll keep trying different ILS approaches and will report further.

Marc, thanks for a great plane, I'll be having a lot of fun in it I believe! 🙂

Awesome airplane !! The one thing I say could be tweaked is the flight model. The entire flight model feels very very twitchy. It’s almost like the airplane needs to feel like it has more mass.

I noticed it particularly in the vertical axis while in the flare. Any movement at all on the yoke causes big changes in that axis in the flare when it should feel heavier especially at slow speeds.

I have lowered my sensitivity a lot on everything but all axis’s could use a little bit more weight.

On this type of plane you'd need to turn the OBS to the DTK on the GTN.  The analogue HSI's don't automatically tune OBS.  Since it's a sim you should be able to have it automatically do that for you if you right click the TDS exe app running in your system tray...  click Show Interface and then you can setup the GTN #1 to do this (can't remember the exact name of the value but you'll find it)

I've not had the plane much longer than anyone else but I've only seen this once or twice.  Are you controls centered when you're using APR mode?  I use a MS FFB2 stick (yes the old one from 20 years ago) - and I have forces disabled...so the stick kinda moves around if you bump it.  I had noticed if it wasn't centered the AP doesn't like to folllow the GTN's guidance.  Many peripherals are self-centering so I figured it's just an issue occasionally for me.  I've also had this with MSFS default aircraft though - almost as if it's a CWS mode - (like you're on AP but you need to take control so you press and hold a button to enable CWS and manipulate the controls).  I guess the big question is:  Are the words LOC and GS up at the top of the AP or on the bottom in smaller font?  I will attempt to try your approaches later when I'm home.

Can you shoot an RNAV(GPS) approach with vertical mins (like lpv) using APR mode?

I feel like it's pretty great except for rollout - where pretty much all addons I've used suffer from this "suddenly the wheels touch the ground and a rogue friction pulls your plane every which way."  Then again I use an old MS FFB2 stick with forces disabled - and with all of the curves and sensitivities it's likely we have different setups.  For me the Carenado Seneca is all over the place in the air.  This bird feels heavier - I believe it's just barely into the medium twin category since landing weight could be above 6000 lbs.  But it does feel more stable in climb, enroute - trimming is really nice for me.  Overall I'm just not happy with some of the "physics" Asobo has claimed to have modeled.

Do you mean how to show the GTNs?  You have to select one of the paints in the livery selection screen that is labeled with the GTN you own.  They either say GTN 750 or GTN 750 Xi I believe.

What i think he means is that at the back of the plane there's some kind of texture that looks like a mirror. That was the first thing i noticed when i was looking at the cabin. What is that? a mirror? Some kind of metallic and reflective surface?
