I bought the "Bislander" a couple of months ago, the cockpit model and texture was quite disappointing, looks like it will be the same with this one.

There's more to flight simulator aircraft than how they looks - like the MND C-22J the Islander flies really well even if the visuals aren't perfect.

I agree, but since I spend my time inside the cockpit, it's quite important, at least for me, that it's pleasant to watch. Since Asobo release very nice looking default planes, I expect payware dev to do similar or better.

Personally I lean toward wanting devs putting more effort into how the planes flies so, as long as the cockpit looks good enough to do the job I'm OK if it feels good to fly.

If it looks like a 2002 addon then I generally pass even if it has a 2022 flight model.

Absolutely your choice, but if it's as much fun as their islander you will be missing out.

Thank goodness for VR/stereoscopic 3D for its ability to make anything look good.😅

I'll just leave it at that...🤣

Love that aircraft !!!

I bought the Islander for a friend when it was released. I'll probably buy this one for me 🙂

I really enjoy the islander and the tri islander just seems too weird to pass up!

They did well with the sound update for the Islander (it sounds superb now), and they are quick with the bug fixes and added features.
I also have the Bulldog but haven't had the chance to fly it much, but first impressions were good.

Once again, you have to understand where BlackBox fit with their releases.
They do try hard and release updates quite regularly, and I find the aircraft enjoyable to fly, but they are a bit light on the polygons / texturing side of things, so they may not be for everyone.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Honestly, the cockpit is perfectly fine...

I have no skin in Blackbox's game, but I'll give you some reasons why I buy their products.

1. stupidly frequent updates, both the Islander and Bird dog had like 10 updates and patches not just fixing issues (which some devs don't do, but adding features)
2. the aircraft do exactly what they say...

3. prices aren't bad at all compared to some.

4. they make interesting but also useful fun to fly planes (bulldog, islander, and bird dog) with lots of bang for buck versions and options (bush, float, wheels, etc)

5. developer seems genuinely to care about his work.

Maybe the models are slightly less 8k pristine golf tourer compared to carenado, but i like the lived in look, and I'd rather have aircraft that are enjoyable to fly, sound good and give me a purpose to fly.

It was only a few years ago in fsx we weren't quite so snobby.

is it perfect? no, but does it come full of features and is fun to fly and look more than good enough to match the sim? hell yes.

I agree with this 100%... Also, I went on a binge of watching your reviews last night. You do so well covering all aspects, even when I disagree with you on a couple of things here and there, but it's all SO well done. Bravo!. I am almost tempted to switch my reviews to the video format because of you. Thanks for what you do.

I have their Islander one of my most flown planes. Looking forward to doing Jersey/Guernsey/Alderney hops in G-JOEY   https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-guernsey-33306732
