Sorry all, those would be questions for Seb and for the developer Q&As! I can't really comment, other than to say that it's very, very cool stuff Seb is doing, and we're enjoying seeing the features and updates.

Hey @MattNischan.  There are still a lot of real life pilots that are complaining about the inertia.  There is a whole thread on this issue, with almost 300 upvotes too: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/all-that-is-wrong-with-the-msfs-flight-model-inertia-stalling-pitch-authority-trim-sensitivity/379936.

That thread has been discussed heavily for a year now and I believe the information from that thread was even passed to Asobo.  But after a year, the issues still persists and nothing has been done yet.  Just wanted to pass this on to you, in case you ever talk to Seb or whoever else is responsible for the flight model, in case the issue has been forgotten.  Thanks.

Excellent call thanks--it is one of the glaring elephants in the sim!

It's definitely not appropriate to use this opportunity to get an "inside in" to the team, and it would be extra, extra inappropriate for us to pass specific requests up the chain like that, sorry.

No worries. Maybe we can post it as a question to be upvoted for the next Twitch Q&A.  Cheers.

You've been already flying in non-ISA atmospheres in live weather for a few versions now, and your altimeter will be affected accordingly. You can see this error by looking at simvars PLANE ALTITUDE (which is just geometric altitude) vs INDICATED ALTITUDE (which will only exactly match when the atmosphere is ISA and/or you are at station elevation).

@MattNischan, sorry for insisting, but I couldn't find by enabling Dev Mode how to see these variables ?  Under which debug window can they be checked ?

Thanks !

I'm not sure you can read arbitrary simvars from in any of the dev mode windows. But you can get the values from SimConnect or JavaScript if you're working in either of those.

Ok, thx !

Unfortunately nope, not using any programming with MFS ... Would be great to find some plugin that could extract chosen Lvars, like there were a few for FS9/FSX...

Looking forward to the G3/5000 suite!! Once a solid update comes along close to the NXi, the Longitude will be a really great biz jet.

Th SDK does include a sample application - SimvarWatcher - which you'd have to build yourself using Visual Studio. I looked at it briefly some time ago, but I don't know if it would serve your purpose.

You don’t have to compile simvarwatch yourself. A compiled version is available if you download the optional “samples” part of the SDK.

Ah ! Great !

Thank you Jim - I will then download the latest version of the SDK and try it.

I am really curious about how ASOBO, most probably based on geopotential height data from meteoblue, is doing it.

that's totally OK. If folks missed out on some stuff, let's happily loop them in instead.

word not allowed, I wish I had your patience and attitude, I'd probably be a better man.

Anyways, WT's stuff adds about 300% value to the sim. It's like getting 4 sims for the price of one. Smart (business) move and great for us simmers.

I've been using the WT G 1000 NXi exclusively with the Kodiak 100 - not seeing anything else at the moment that could beat that combo.

The Chancellor with the dual GTN 750s looks enticing, but the cockpit - to me - looks like my grandpa's basement.

There are a whole bunch of simvars you can monitor with the utility. True altitude, indicated altitude, pressure altitude, sea level pressure, ambient pressure (actual pressure at the aircraft’s current altitude) etc.
