WU8 splash screens but not in content manager

Featured Replies

Store version.  Yes I've updated the XBox app, and the store, and the sim downloaded a bunch of data (318 of 318 packages it said).  I now have WU8 splash screens of Lisbon etc. but when I go into Content Manager, I cannot find WU8 listed anywhere.

When I go into the sim at Lisbon, it's not the WU8 Lisbon.  Shouldn't WU8 appear in Content Manager?  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.  I'm downloading it now.  That is strange. I don't recall ever having to go into the Marketplace for any prior World Updates, but hey, maybe I did.

Well ... I updated fine and looked in Marketplace as well. All other World Updates are there - but not Italy.

Correction: it *is* there - just under the "World" menu. The Asobo GUI is a total mess.

Tsk Tsk.  Rhett, you must remember to consult the proper checklist(s) to reach the promised land.

Just type in "world update" into the search box, and it'll pop right up. Not really rocket science.

Sure ... but I would have thought that if you've just spent ages downloading the World Update that it would be enabled/updated automatically?

The World Updates have always been optional (there are some people out there who, for various reasons, choose not to get them). One does not spend "ages" downloading the actual World Update (the region being covered by the update) until one has "bought" it (for free, in the Marketplace). Do keep in mind, however, that a World Update will also include updates to other regions and scenery. Some of those are mandatory (downloaded at the "Installation Manager" screen) and some of them are optional (Content Manager updates).

He's referring to the huuuuge download that did in fact occur in my Store version prior me ever visiting the Marketplace and selecting WU8.

But anyway, I digress.

Huh? Italy is the NEXT world update which has not been released yet. No idea what you found under the "world" menu, but you seem to be very confused.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Sorry -- my mistake. It was a typo in posting. I meant "Iberia".

Also - I have to concede that (yes) ... updates like "Iberia" are *optional* - and are separate to the main World Update. However - I still maintain that the whole update process is ludicrously (and unnecessarily) complicated. I've used every other flight sim out there (XP11, DCS, IL-2 - as well as FSX and P3D) and none of them required such insanity.

Must agree that I too find the update process rather Redmondian 😉 ... and the new Marketplace interface as well.
