That's from 2020, LOL. Of course Jorg and some Asobo people were checking out Avsim in 2020.  In one of your pictures, it's dated July 23, 2020.  The official MSFS forum wasn't even operating for the general public on July 23, 2020.

Don't equate 2020 to 2022.  We know they were checking out other forums in 2020, especially before MSFS was released.  It's 2022 now and they don't care much about the complaints in Avsim.  You can complain all you want here at Avsim and they aren't going to read the threads.

Understand this: they have plenty to read at the official MSFS forum at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/, they don't need to come to Avsim to get more feedback. They probably can't even read all the threads and complaints at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/, why would they bother to come here to Avsim?

And even if Asobo people are reading Avsim (which they probably aren't), you need the right person reading your complaints to operate on it.  It's known that Microsoft/Asobo check Reddit for photos posted of MSFS so that they can include those photos in their weekly updates.  But the employee checking for photos isn't going to pass on your information to the right team at Asobo that can fix the problem on clouds.  I even asked Matt from Working Title here to pass on a request to the right team at Asobo regarding a fix to allow more customization of the flight model - Matt promptly said he would not pass on that information.

Even if they did read this forum, I think they would quickly tire of the frequent negativity on this forum, and move on to something more productive.

A lot has changed for the worse since. Weather visuals were so good at release and now we have people defending this mess for whatever reason.

I did ask in my OP whether I might have settings wrong in the SIM.. yes I complained too but geez. Brutal place this is!

Because  you're wasting time posting threads in the wrong location if you want the sim to get better.  The chance that posting here in Avsim will be read by the right person at Microsoft/Asobo to act on it is probably 0.0000000001%.  There is a forum open right now for the next Twitch Q&A: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/community/dev-q-a-april-27/348.  Post there if you want a chance of Microsoft/Asobo reading your thread.  If your thread gets upvoted high enough for the next Twitch Q&A, your chance of it being read by the right person at Microsoft/Asobo is probably above 50%, and if your thread is the top voted thread, the chance that your question gets asked at the actual Twitch Q&A, forcing Jorg/Seb/Martial to answer your question is probably way over 50%.

That's how you productively get Microsoft/Asobo to improve the sim, not wasting time posting threads here at Avsim that will never be read by the key person at Microsoft/Asobo.

We'll get some good-looking cirrus eventually.  Maybe sooner than we think.

Simmers commented on popcorn clouds so Microsoft/Asobo removed them. Simmers commented on poor tree drawing distance so Microsoft/Asobo increased it.  Simmers commented on poor cloud representation so... Microsoft/Asobo may fix them you think?

I almost took your advice to move to another sim because the ice on windows was a little over done, but then I got to thinking of the many thousands of things that are good.

 

The weather engine has amazing potential, and I agree that cloud types other than cumuliform are desperately needed to move this sim forward with a more realistic weather depiction. I don’t think, however, other cloud types have ever been well represented in the sim, even at launch. In fact, I believe this has been a stated limitation by the dev team in several Q&A sessions….but it is something that lives somewhere on the roadmap.
