April 17, 20224 yr Aside from being a cloud puff layer that looks totally unrealistic and in 2022 kind of embarrassing compared to the other technology in this flight sim, do I maybe have settings wrong or what is this supposed to be in the screenshot below? Looks like an inverted layer of puff from before FS98? Asobo PLEASE consider hiring a team of professional weather experts/artists much like you did for many other parts of this sim and FIX this substandard atmosphere. And it will SHINE! But with the totally repetitive, ugly CLOUDS we've had since SU3 - our atmospheres will remain DULL and uninspiring to fly. SOME of the lower level repetitive cumulus puffs look pretty good from AFAR, BUT they are EVERYWHERE with NO VARIETY and as soon as you get within a mile or less they turn from looking opaque (like a cloud SHOULD BE) to a very TRANSPARENT blob of see-through light FOG that give NO SENSE OF MOTION. Never used to be this way before SU3 timeframe... 😕 And for God's sake, PLEASE make METAR an option so we can remove and make the live weather like it USED to be.

Well you are probably not serious, but I played FS98 just a few hours ago (for historical reasons; runs great on Linux with WINE) and of course your screenshot looks nothing like that. In fact it's surprising how unimportant looks can be if you are immersed in other aspects of simulation. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir

NOT that far off I don't think?

April 17, 20224 yr Its 1997 such technology has not been made yet. Best move onto to either p3d or xplane. You might find more favourable outcomes. On a serious note this sim has been out what just on 2 years? And lets face it it lack of high end airplanes this is properly one of the most immersive sims to date. I myself is in constant awe of of some of the sceneries i have seen, and some of the aircraft that are available atm makes it all so much better. MSFS 2020 has not been perfect out of the gate but what it has produced in SUCH a small time is fantastic. So if you are unhappy with these type of things or trees or popcorn clouds then go back to another sim. No one is stopping you. Do what you do, Like what you have. No, most Asobo employees probably don't read this forum. They don't have the time for it. Your complaints is like somebody yelling in the middle of a forest and nobody is even around you for hundreds of miles. The odd Working Title member, such as Matt, may frequent the MSFS forums here at Avsim. But even then, fixing these clouds is not Working Title's responsiblity. You're better off creating a thread to be upvoted for the next Twitch Q&A. Complaining here at the Avsim forum is practically useless and won't get anything fixed because nobody relevant from the MSFS team will read your thread here at Avsim. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

There are several Youtube creators that discuss recent air crashes, and their choice for the sim to demonstrate the doomed flights lately has been MSFS 2020. Viewers watching these videos are reminded that this is a simulation and not actual video of the flight.
