That's exactly how it worked for me. Admin mode used for the load manager? I did change units in the load manager (little aircraft to the left, yes? where you can also change other stuff like "efb available?") prior to starting the sim, so not sure if that makes a difference. I can't wait for someone to make a soundpack." And since I've seen this same comment here a few times, I want to link an HD video of an MD-80 departing from the flight deck so those of you who have the product can compare reality versus sim versus expectation. The very first time I was in an MD-80 I remember saying "Man, did we just do a dead stick take-off?" - And I was sitting in row 3 of the cabin. When you're sitting in the front rows of the MD, all you can hear in flight is the sound of the air sizzling by on the skin of the aircraft. If you sit in back you hear that plus the sound of the engines going wawawawa. Here's a vid I made departing LAX in an AA Maddog sitting in one of the front rows of 1st class. https://youtu.be/NVLtkZigBvo Edited May 1, 20224 yr by skully
May 1, 20224 yr Could someone point me to the instructions regarding MCDU programming of the flight once the ACARS request is loaded? Load Manager, load flight plan, save and sync, MCDU, ACARS, REQ, see plan, switch to MCDU, no plan...I've missed the steps to bring from ACARS to MCDU to avoid all of the programming. Thanks.

Yes sir, I saved it and also synced it. I decided to give a bit more detail so maybe someone can help me out. I signed up yesterday to the maddog x official forum, but yet to be approved so no help from there. In the load manager, under the "Airline Options" tab, Page 9 of the user manual says to choose aircraft from drop down, then change "cockpit units" to lbs. In the manual it says this, yet fuel, efb data for takeoff and landing, weight and balance inside cockpit is still all in kgs. The units do not change on the fly. Am I missing something or is this something they looked over and missed prior to release? Cockpit units. Sets the panel’s weight/baro units, “kgs/mbar” or “Lbs/InHg”. If the simulator is running, the units change will be executed “on the fly”. May 1, 20224 yr Pilots! I need advice on speed management during approach. I have VNAV FMC EPR engage which is keeping speed 210 kts. I'm trying to override FMS with approach speed 140 kts. I set speed and press FMS override. Autopilot struggles but doesn't decelerate, and keeps 210. The then I press ILS it tracks LOC but doesn't descent with GS speed still 180-210kts. I gotta be doing something wrong! Any advice for a correct procedure is appreciated ! Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). May 1, 20224 yr Copying navigation database. Please wait... Comes up every time I run the load manager, and it take several minutes to complete. Is that normal? Also, I can't get rid of or replace the scruffy ramp-rat fellow in the copilot's seat no mater what I set the CM1 and CM2 Avatars to. Is there a trick? I've been trying to figure this out too, I haven't been able to find a solid explanation yet in the manual (or Chuck's guide) but when I extended the slats the FMS override started to work. I'm not sure if/why having the slats extended is a required for FMS override to work (there's certainly scenarios where you'd want to override speed but not necessarily extend slats), but I haven't yet found another way to get it working, hopefully someone can point us in the right direction. May 1, 20224 yr I take that back, how do you get the route into the MCDU once you've chosen SIMBRIEF in the Load Manager?

That's the same in the real plane. FMS override only works when slats are out. However... at 210 you can and should extend the slats, so I don't see the problem. If you absolutely do not want to, you can always set a speed constraint in the FMS. The thinking is: "if the pilot is using vnav, he controls everyhting with the FMS." That's why you cannot do "manual speed" in VNAV mode on a clean configuration. (Not saying this makes too much sense, but that's how the real plane is) For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
