Leonardo Maddog to be released 30 April!

AFAIK, Leonardo is a one or two man operation. They are obviously highly skilled at extremely accurate systems and flight modeling for this one specific aircraft. But, it is entirely possible that nobody on the current development staff has the skill or knowledge to do the highly complex 3-D modeling that MSFS is capable of supporting. A given individual could be a Nobel Prize-winning theoretical physicist, and yet not have the skill to build a particle collider, or even fix a leaky faucet for that matter.

I assume that with the release of the Maddog on MSFS, that Leonardo has had a substantial increase in their cash flow. Hopefully they can use that revenue to bring someone on board who does have the necessary skill and training to bring the graphics up to MSFS standards - either as a direct employee, or as a subcontractor. Time will tell.

I agree as for Leonardo the VC and sounds where the weak spots since FSX/P3D, but in MSFS with the lightning it's not that a factor ...

Glad to be in the virtual air again with this beautiful bird and hope they will improve some of the VC and sound stuff 🙂

Whut? the only gripes I hear is he sounds. Even the XPlane streamers give this a 9.9 out of 10.

I really value the reviews by Into The Blue Simulations. There is a long list of negatives/concerns. When he mentioned issues with the mouse over click spots, I didn’t need to hear any more negatives. The tablet should also have way more functionality, especially at the current price point.

I think there is a huge bug switching between KG and LBS. It just mixed up everywhere. Very confusing.

Also I can only populate FMC with existing default flight plan by default LIEELIRF but it doesn't take other simbrief flight plans I generated

ATC voices keep stuttering in loop. I have no idea why but very annoying!

Did you tried using simbrief downloader and download the FP files into the aircraft folder in community not the folder in Documents. You need to use Leonardo MD-82 format in simbrief downloader when downloading the FP. It works flawlessly after that

I have no issues with click spots whatssoever, if that helps. They are all perfect for me. Do you have a timestamp from the video so I can see where he has problems?

The modelling and texturing are not what I would have expected for the price. It's as bad as the worst, cheap offerings I have mistakenly bought. I can't enjoy the plane until it looks like a FS2020 plane should. It's worth no more than £40 not £80. It's a P3D plane ported over to FS2020 without any effort to improve it visually.

Always have loved the plane in FSX, but I can’t justify the asking price. Especially after all the videos I have watched on it. Bummer, one of my favorite planes!

I was skeptical since I started seeing pre-release videos. I do agree with most of the concerns regarding textures and sounds. 3D model is somewhat acceptable but I think cockpit buttons, knobs, levers can use some better modeling to get to MSFS standards. The plane and it's systems are well built under the hood but the body needs some work. I hope Leonardo takes this opportunity to do some improvements to the VC in the coming updates for this aircraft. Even if I paid and done with purchasing, I think for their own reputation Leonardo should at least say something to the community regarding the visual and aural performance of their product in the new platform. At the end of the day I pulled the trigger on Maddog due to community response and Leonardo's reputation among seasoned flight simmers. Now crossed my fingers to see a forum post or a community post to see their response on these things that are brought up by the community.

Which "offering" is that?

Because the Landing gear texture makes the aircraft unflyable right ? I've head some of the most ridiculous complains on the textures. Concordes has bad textures, the maddog has good textures with a few lower res one where it doesn't really matter. Wherever you need to look as a pilot is a good quality,  there is a few area where  you almost never look, this is where you get the lower quality. it's not a big deal but somehow it has becomes the topic of all complains. It's not a game breaker in any shape or form and gives the aircraft a good performance.  That's a winner in my book.

A lot of the VC click spots are difficult to find for me as well.

Could you make an example? Not that I don't believe you, but I really haven't met one yet.

disable Lens corrections in graphics. Also when a switch is down, you need to use the wheelmouse to go up

Personally, I always use the mouse wheel to manipulate switches in MSFS, even if they natively support bi or tri directional clicks. I’ve always done it that way - it is my preferred method. But, I understand that not everyone wants to use the wheel.

From memory, the hydraulic switches for example.  I find in general that there are very small click spots relative to the size of the switches.
