PMDG 737 - flight planning not great, otherwise seems good

Hi folks

Wonder if anyone can help please. Not sure if I am doing anything wrong but am able to import my flight plan etc and do all I need to do to set it up. What I am not sure of though is that when I look at the legs of my flight plan there is no speed/altitude data.

I do have simbrief set to Auto for altitude and also 'plan setclimbs' ticked. But when I import there is no speed/height data?

Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you

All the very best

There  is  a good  tutorial  that  came  with  the  737  well worth reading

Perhaps you can try again with a different simbrief flightplan? Btw you have to manually enter SID/STARS, which usually will have speed and altitude restrictions. Not entirely sure what you mean - but I guess a standard high-altitude flight plan will not usually have speed/altitude restrictions.

On the other hand in the PERF page you have to either manually enter the cruise alt or load from the flightplan.

That's the nice way of saying "RTFM!" 🙂

should be there, see pic while enroute ENVA-ENAL right now. Only winds need to be imported separately (after having been also exported using simbrief to work/wx folder)

Comes with these basic simbrief settings:

MySound and pete_auau - LOL. I know what you mean, I have read the manuals, watched Youtube tutorial's etc - but somehow I am missing something. After all, I can pretty much do everything else but cant work that small bit out lol 🙂

Yeah, it's hard to figure everything out. I used the PMDG 737 a lot in P3D, but that was already some time ago. I also had a hard time to get everything back working again.

I dread to think what the people up in arms about simbrief etc are using for takeoff performance. 🙂

I used this with the ZIBO 737 in X-Plane, and have started using it again now for the PMDG. Just need to update the weight data for the -700.

EDIT: Just discovered another one this week:

FYI, see below

Gents, thanks for the attempted assistance but this is my third PMDG 737 (would have been fourth if I hadn't left P3D early on in the V4 cycle).  I probably have 5,000 hours in complex 737s at this point between PMDG, iFly, and Zibo.

Someone mentioned the LNAV as an area needing improvement for some time now.  Some others, including me, posted examples that it doesn't appear it has been improved at all for the MSFS 737.  Then some people started with the "it must be your fault, you're doing something wrong" stuff.

Yes, a lot of people's issues are them not knowing the systems...I get it.  But the LNAV has room for improvement.  I took the A32NX up right after I made the above video and it flew the SID perfectly.

I fired up Topcat last night for the first time in years…taking off from MDW I wanted to make sure the numbers were right!

Did the performance numbers seem pretty good?  I might have to dust off Topcat too.
