Fenix and performance

Load the plane up at the Hand Crafted KSFO and then cry. That Airport will be the death of your PC. It tanks FPS no matter what AC, at least it does for me anyway. Yet Fly Tampa KLAS and KBOS are far more detailed and while KBOS is worse than KLAS on FPS, the ASOBO KSFO just tanks to single digit numbers, as soon as I take off it all goes back to normal.

I have a 3090 and DLSS cant come quick enough IMHO.

KBOS just now was over cast, low vis and raining FPS stayed and never moves from my locked 31

KJFK Overcast FPS never went from below 31

Single digits at KSFO?

OK I thought I would look since Ive never used that airport in msfs yet

Fenix, setting Utlra Render scale 120 1440p

FPS lock at 31

This is pre patch

Think it might be your end and you have a 3090.

Good update, I now have more FPS rendering displays on my CPU 10900KF compared to 2070 Super, around 4-5FPS

Still locked at 30 FPS so the difference is less noticeable, but does feel smoother

10900KF @ 5.2Ghz, 2070 Super, 32GB 3200Mhz, Gigabyte M28U 4K Monitor - MSFS: Terrain LOD: 200, Object LOD: 100

No real increase for me, sadly. It does feel smoother though.

Weirdly my cpu is running at ~30% load and my GPU is at ~50%, yet I’m only getting around 30 fps 🤷‍♂️ I just don’t get it. CPU is i9 10900k and GPU 3090.

the IPC of your CPU is unable to drive your GPU to its fullest.  You are single core/thread limited basically.

What’s the best way of getting the most out of both in this situation?

The biggest setting within MSFS for your CPU is LOD I use 150. I also make sure nothing is using the main core MSFS users, so my msfs core is never at 100% always runs around 85-95%. Capping FPS helps hugely with this.

I'm getting much better performance with the new update. Sitting at the gate in Flytampa's YSSY with the default turnaround state enabled, AI traffic on, Orbx Sydney, Orbx YBBN, Orbx Brisbane, Bijans Seasosn, Bijans Island Rocks and Sunken Boats, Seafront Simulation Global Shipping, and Seafront Simulation core vessels loaded. I get around 40-47fps.

Terrain Lod and Object Lod at 200. Render scaling 100. 4K resolution, with all Graphic settings set to ultra and their highest value. I'm pretty impressed. Getting closer to PMDG 737 performance after the update.

With this update I am now able to turn off the iGPU and put the display rendering on my 3090 and performance is very smooth.

This is what I don’t understand. I have very similar specs to you (only 32 GB ram) yet I’m getting less performance. My test was at EBBR though. Try it there and then see what you get! (Assuming you have the Aerosoft payware version…)

It's a bit more smoother maybe? Don't get anymore extra frames.

EBBR payware or default?
