- SU10: DLSS, multi-screen support, etc will be in SU10 beta

Hopefully this also means that the NVSurround distortion will be corrected for and not only that seperate multi screens can be opened….

I seriously wonder why they do a Q&A question section in the official forums with votes and then simply ignore those questions...

So we get a new option to limit fps to 15 ingame. Who needs that. What a waste of resources. But a sim rate display is still not here after 3 years.

90% of the stream was about Xbox and maverick. With every update we get more fluff that breaks real stuff which is never addressed afterwards.

They were reluctant to restore gusts because it would be too hard. Concerned faces while talking about adding back challenging live weather like it be some inconceivable thing. To me this is the crux of msfs, the people in charge stopping it from becoming as real as it gets. Imagine flight instructors not wanting to teach students about something challenging like gusts as it might be too hard for them to handle or understand. It goes against the very foundation of what a flight simulator is supposed to be. I know I'm going on about this and some may not see it as a big deal, but I feel it's important to be aware of.

There was no French requirement in that position

There wasn't in others until people got responses to their CVs stating they needed to know French (two I know of now).

Then they will not find many developers joining them

Nothing about cloud improvements or adding more cloud layers to live weather. That seems to have been brushed under the carpet.

Which is exactly the reason why they decided the limit updrafts earlier. The way Seb answered the Gusts question it seems he is the driving force behind dumbing things down because he thinks adverse weather of that kind would confuse people.

Accessability for everyone is one thing, but a simulation is a simulation. Instead of taking people by the hand too much, like they do in eliminating effects in live weather that should be there, they should simply force people to do what you had to do in all serious sims so far.

If your time in the region you want to fly turns out to be too difficult because of weather you either stay on the ground like you would in the real world or switch to a weather preset. That's what I used to do in P3D.

They could learn something from FromSoftware and Elden Ring. Dark Souls and co. are known for having much less hand holding then typical games from AAA studios. But they increased accessibility in Elden Ring by adding Spirit Ashes players can summon in fights.  You don't have to use them though and many choose not to. But they still have not altered the core expierence. There are huge optional areas players can miss if they are not observant.

So accessibility is a good thing. The correct way would be to include either more missions and tutorials or... the first time a user encounters a strong updraft, gusts or something like that, pause the game and display a textbox, maybe even a video that explains what just happened. Also include a menu option to turn off this feature. Then they can go all out on the realism, without having to care for people thinking it's bugged.

So again nothing to the snow coverage bug although it was on 10th position of the Q&A question list?

I hope the talk about this next time. I mean, this isn‘t a difficult question to answer, I guess.

They will touch more on SU10 in next Q&A, but alluded to some of its big features starting here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1308771411?t=01h05m31s , note the bit where Martial says "we are working on new clouds logic", so I'm pretty sure it's the continuation of clouds/layers/live-weather improvements they discussed earlier, with some implementation that started in SU9.

At times, especially in the early days, it seemed like Asobo responded too quick to popular user requests, even if those requests didn't make too much sense.  I feel that's much improved now (i.e. live weather wind gusts are back in a proper way >=SU10), and overall since SU8 the weather, atmospherics & world airflow, clouds, etc seem to be on the right path forward.

For example, just on the specific topic of thermals (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1308771411?t=01h16m59s), it's being simulated to a good level of depth where the ground energy/heat rising up measured in total wattage is impacted by clouds thickness for sunlight to travel thru, light angle hitting earth, terrain surface and colors (dark vs light) impacting amount of light being reflected back, and various other factors. This is then compared to the energy/heat in the air above the ground to determine what exact thermals to simulate... all this points to a focus on a great level of realism AFAIAC.

Going forward in SU11+ they'll be expanding their CFD technology to a 20km radius around the airplane (whereas in SU9 it was a small cocoon), to more realistically simulate local atmospheric air flows as you fly (see starting here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1308771411?t=01h19m02s)
