May 30, 20224 yr As some may recall, when I got the A 320 over a week ago, the first day drove me crazy. I was sort of used to the FMC on the 737 from years ago, and I couldn't get my head around the MCDU on the A 320, for about 2 days. I finally figured it out, and now it is a piece of cake. Everything else on the A 320, was fairly easy. I watched this video a few days ago, and i wish I had seen it before I got the A 320. Hope it will help someone else get used to the MCDU> Edited May 30, 20224 yr by Bobsk8
May 30, 20224 yr Bob- Now that you have figured out the issues with the MCDU were self created, perhaps examine your Subject Line? It's a bit negative and Fenix has produced something that deserves better. If your intent was just to grab attention for your post, perhaps you still can, in a more positive vein? Thanks for considering. Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

May 30, 20224 yr So your biggest problem with the Fenix is actually that it's not a Boeing? Intel i9-13900K | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master | RTX4090 | 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 | Be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX AiO | Win 11

May 30, 20224 yr Once airbusized... never boeingized... I did buy the PMDG 737 but my goto airliners are the fbw a32n and the toliss a319... It's so much more intuitive & easy the Airbus way that I strongly believe the systems design / concept must have been German driven... Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

"Here's what helped me understand the Airbus MCDU" ALL our FS Developers work so hard for us, and we reap SO MUCH enjoyment and education from their output. I really would like to reduce the amount of vitriol here on AvSim... Edited May 30, 20224 yr by cavaricooper Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

I think it was Thomson-CSF (French company, now Thales), much stems from the A300 FFCC I believe, and then further back to traditions established with the likes of Concorde. The overhead panel in particular strikes me a shining example of logical ergonomics when compared to the 1960s mess of a 737 that doesn't even have a centralised warning system! Flew the 737 for years, and never liked the overhead panel.
May 30, 20224 yr I enjoy the differences between the Boeing and Airbus implementations. They seem to have the same capabilities more-or-less, so once you know what one of them can do, there’s a good chance the other will do it too, if you can find the right page 🙂 I don’t think either is really more “intuitive” than the other: they both presuppose a good deal of knowledge and the rest is basically memory/practice. 14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor.
