SDK UPDATE Roadmap: Sim Update 10: For Premium & Deluxe aircraft, the config files (.cfg) will no longer be encrypted. You’ll be able to access them! Terrain & Weather Radar Drawing APIs NavData API Aircraft Editor V2 Game rendered in a window in the DevMode General We added support for Visual Studio 2022 to the MSFS Platform Toolset (WASM compilation). We disabled the Auto-Hide option when using the Smart Docking System (which is, for now, limited to the game being rendered in its own window, allowing you to re-arrange your editors around it. More features to come!). We fixed a crash when launching flight or returning to menu while offscreen rendering is activated. For XML gauges rendered through NanoVG, we fixed the text that was rendered on several lines when it should have been a single line. We also fixed incorrect scaling on text height. We have decided to put some efforts on the Material Editor. It’s needed when you create Sceneries or Visual Effects, and we’ve been wanting to revamp/fix it for a long time now. On the Material Editor We fixed the reloading of libraries in the Material Manager On the Aircraft Editor We included “aircraft data” debug window in the DevMode menu and in the Aircraft Editor. On the Visual Effects Editor We fixed a bug on the ribbon construction. On the Scenery Editor We fixed the trafficScalar xml serialization. We fixed the car parking updates & optimized vehicle rendering. DevMode: The console is now dockable in DevMode, and can be made opaque/transparent just like any other window. Scenery Editor: We fixed the TIN color correction that was not correctly applied during editing. We fixed an issue with third parties airports without runways. COMMUNITY VIDEO When Storm Eunice hit the UK back in February, plane spotter Jerry Dyer, known online as “BIG JET TV”, became an internet phenomenon with more than 200,000 simultaneous viewers tuning in to listen to his often hilarious commentary of airline pilots attempting to make very difficult landings at London Heathrow in high wind conditions. We recently sent Jerry a special Top Gun Maverick edition Xbox and a copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Jerry was kind enough to record his reaction to receiving the package and his first experiences as an MSFS pilot in the video below: SCREENSHOT CHALLENGE You can submit your screenshot via Twitter with #MSFSchallenge or the Weekly Forum Post ! June 30, 20223 yr Quote Sim Update 10: For Premium & Deluxe aircraft, the config files (.cfg) will no longer be encrypted. You’ll be able to access them! I know this was hinted at in previous dev Q&A sessions as "something they are looking at" but its nice to see it official. Does this provide the same level of modding access that the default aircraft have? Step in the right direction either way.
June 30, 20223 yr Surprised they haven't started talking about the SU10 beta yet Can't be that long till it starts unless they want to cram it into 4 weeks yet again - and previous experience shows that doesnt leave enough time to fix problems that are identified. And still no sign of the Carenado PC-12 Edited June 30, 20223 yr by Matchstick

Well it's out August 23rd, so that's still 2 months away.

Otherwise we risk yet again raising issue in testing but still seeing them in the release because there wasn't time to fix them. In an ideal world I'd like to see multi stage testing start as soon as the previous SU was released so there's a continuous rolling process but I don't think we'll ever see that. June 30, 20223 yr In my opinion seeing as though SU10 is a very large update, probably the biggest and most important one so far for MSFS 2020, it should have a substantially longer period of beta testing time than all the previous one's, period. For the sake of our sanity. June 30, 20223 yr Good updates, looks like various state changes in the wishes/bugs lists since last time?... some of interest to me below. My guess is that the SU10 beta will start in early-mid July, they probably wanted to wait until at least after the US long weekend. Cloud Layer Improvements (Bugs LT #2, #17) | SU 10 --- Fine-tuning of the cloud layer system to be more precise and incremental is ongoing. The cloud layer will be much thinner at sea level and thicker at higher altitudes. The updated system will better depict a realistic cloud coverage at low altitude with an update of the weather panel. Helicopters are a Must (Wishlist LT #2) | SU 11 --- Good progress overall on Helicopters as lots of display & debug tools are being added to tune the experience. Gliders (Wishlist LT #11, #31) | SU 11 --- Basic gameplay blocks for Gliders are now implemented (tow plane, winch launch, water ballast management, updrafts/thermals) and require fine tuning #01 → 438 votes Massive FPS Drop Because of SU 09 Started #22 ↑ 394 votes Poor Performance on the Ground Started #17 ↑↑ 438 votes Massive FPS Drop Because of SU 9 Started #20 ↑ 14 votes Still Performance Issues on Long-Haul Flights in SU 9 Started #02 ↑ 111 votes Italian Cities are Covered by Trees Fixed #01 → 1156 votes Live Weather Does Not Match Started (Several Releases) #04 → 762 votes After Playing for a Few Hours, FPS Drops from 40 to 5 FPS Started #09 → 547 votes Lack Of Real Time Traffic (90% Less Than What’s Happening) Started #10 → 527 votes Autogen Airports Too Dark / Aircraft Light Do Not Illuminate Surroundings Planned #21 ↓ 406 votes Weather Transition is not Smooth after SU 7 Under Investigation #05 ↑↑ 39 votes Realistic Dangerous Weather – Physics Simulation Under Investigation #09 → 979 votes Enhanced API to Access All Aircraft States Planned #10 → 958 votes Improve AI Traffic at Airports and in the Air Started #09 → 547 votes Lack Of Real Time Traffic (90% Less Than What’s Happening) Started #17 → 780 votes Improved AI Systems, Supported by AIG?
