Flysimware C414AW out of beta!

The paid PMS version just isn’t worth it. I really regret buying it. I encounter so many bugs that I don’t even feel like trying to report them.

It really depends on your priorities... if you have flown the F1 or RXP GTN 750 in P3D or XP, the TDS version is the one to get.  It uses the actual Garmin code and behaves like the real unit.

The PMS version is closely tied to the Asobo flight planning system for better or worse..

if you have never used the GTN.. the free PMS50 version is OK while you figure out your options.

Thanks - that makes it easy, the TDS is the one for me. Appreciate it.

Agree. I've used the free version for months and it's been working really well. The payware version has some extra features, like fuel planning, holds, FPL import and navigraph charts implementation.

Guys, how to find information re: power and prop settings in various phases of flight - takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, approach. I haven't seen anything in the included .pdf.

Here is a link to the C414A Pilots Operating Handbook.

The modeled version, with a RAM4 conversion, will have slightly different numbers.

Funnily enough... there is no texture.base to be found for this airplane.. 😉

Yeah I made the template out of the carenado mooney I think way back when and never got rid of it.

I don't agree. I'm using it and have no problem with it. You should report those "bugs" you think you have because it's probably user error. I used the RXP in other sims and some things in the PMS work differently because it is tied to the default flight planner, but they are not bugs. It is very worth it in my opinion.

This one has been calling my name for a while.  Can anyone flying primarily in VR share their thoughts on how the 414 is in that regard?

Now that its out of beta, I'm pretty eager to pull the trigger on it for a nice "in between" something like the 310 (which is excellent in VR) and Hjet (which needs a bit of work in VR, but otherwise is excellent).

The TDS one is probably the way to go.  For me I'm happy going the free route.

I'm struggling a bit with the fuel planner. It's easy when you've got full tanks. But outside of that situation, I can't seem to enter the correct fuel amount, even when following the manual. Which suggests to subtract "GAL REM" from 1001 to have "GAL REM" return to approximately zero.

I've heard the 414 is excellent as well.

However there is another candidate soon to be released - the Carenado PC12.  Speed wise it's slightly faster than the 414 but cruises in the lower FL's like the 414.  It's going to support both GTNs so that should be great for VR as well.  Obviously the systems won't be as detailed as the 414 (and definitely not close to the lovely 310).  Just another option though.
