If you buy it, don't forget to let us know what you think of it! Specially interested to hear if P2ATC really assigns STAR etc. during cruise (if you don't plan one during preflight) and if it change the expected one depending on the weather!

Will do, but as you may have seen in the ATC add-on comparison thread you so kindly created, someone has already confirmed that Pilot2ATC works exactly this way.

It does.. (unless you tell it not to in the settings)..

LOL I will re-read my own topic but afaik it wasn't clear what happens if you don't pre-plan a STAR and approach at all (if that's possible at all) AND what happens if you force different weather. But apart from that I am very interested to hear what someone who is totally new to P2ATC will say about it all, specially someone like you who has really given this all some thought.

EDIT
Ah, just read Gazzareth's post in that topic! Hadn't read the recent posts there yet. 😉Cool!

I jump fore and back between FSHud and PRO ATC SR 🙄

Both have their advantages:

very good support and development: FSHUD wins (not to say PRO ATC fails completely in that regard and if I would have other choices I wouldn't support that devloper)

voices: I like the PRO ATC voices more, however it is very often, that voices get mixed up. FS Hud voices are also ok, but you haven't that variation

ATC features: PATC let you start from intersection (better said from where you want if you ask). FS Hud could loose you most probably if you align on an intersection.

Both failed during approach and lost me. Not often, but can happen.

AI Traffic: FS Hud controls the traffic completely, but AI Traffic looks too ugly, I can't oversee that. And of course you loose MSFS live traffic. PRO ATC does a quite good job recognizing the MSFS Traffic and react to it.

Both have some quirks and issues, but both are better then default ATC.

And I do not use voice recognition, therefore I can't say how it works

How is your experience regarding live traffic / AI traffic handling?

I currently only fly with live traffic and no AI traffic in MSFS as this is for me the most realistic solution. The only AI traffic manager which is doing a good job injecting AI traffic in my eyes is AIG Traffic Manager but it is crashing often leading to no traffic at all during flight and I'm sick of checking every 10 minutes if it is still running.

My first flight with ATR Pro SR was leading to mixed feelings in this regards. First of all I was happy to see that tower did let me wait before entering the runway due to other landing flights. I was then a little bit upset as I needed to wait for almost 15 minutes and there were time windows in between where a VATSIM operator would have let me started in between. But this was still fine.

Real problem I had then approaching Boston where I had a lot of traffic (which normally is good as realistic). Because ATC was not ensuring distance and as I wanted to check what happened I followed their instructions leading to an almost crash where at the end my airbus cleared the issue automatically. This was a little bit frustrating.

Anybody else with such a experience for live traffic in combination with ATC PRO SR?

FSHud works fine with AIG install and no need to run TC

That was not my point?

No, but it still may be of interest for some to know this. I installed AIG yesterday and let FSHud generate and control the aircraft and all AI planes looked awesome on the various airports I visited!

Yes of course. But "awf" quoted me with sth I haven't talked about, so I find that misleading.

Of course does FSHud use AIG models. But you can't use MSFS live traffic, instead you get the FSHud own generated traffic, which moves very erratic

Congratz to your 1000th post, @tup61 ;)

True, but it is getting better. Yesterday I saw a plane taxi and take off and while there were huge hickups the plane didn't turn in odd ways. It is improving. And the used liveries were quite right too for the airports. I am hopeful. ;)
