As you can see, one of the challenges here is that everyone has different ideas of what's most realistic or what compromises they are willing to make. We really need to get a thread going with a comparison of facts so that people can make an informed decision about what ATC add-on will best suit them. Maybe I'll take on this task, but it will take a long time if I do it, as I have a day job and spending time doing flights with different ATC add-ons is going to take time. I've contacted the guy that runs the Overkill Simulations YT channel to see if he's willing to take this on, and he mentioned in his video yesterday that he's going to look at all these ATC add-ons... so that would help a lot.
August 16, 20223 yr Proatc was my goto atc in P3D. But what I saw so far it’s just a lazy port. Not a toolbar app to use in vr but ancient outside software with awkward things like makerunways. No thx. Glad I started with vatsim a year ago. Best atc ever Lukas Dalton

Great point, some people like fs reality and some are ok to compromise. e.g night lighting/audio. Some good help from people here iff you do atc feedback, easy though :🙂 Edited August 17, 20223 yr by icewater5 focus
August 17, 20223 yr I have both Pilot2ATC and Pro ATC SR, back in time I used Radar Contact. On paper Pilot2ATC is very good, but I have my share of problems with it, like speech recogition having a hard time sometimes to understand what I say or simply stops listening, so I have to restart it - killing the immersion. Offcourse my dialect (being Danish) could be the culprit, but I´m using Speech recognition in DCS via VAICOM / Voiceattack with no issues. I have also used previous versions of Pro ATC in P3D and now I have also bought Pro ATC SR. So far it works quite Ok, also the speech recognition seems Ok. But I think it comes down to the fact that it only listens for a very few keywords, cause often when doing th readback, it accepts my readback halfway through it and then cuts me off before I´m finished with the readback. System: i7-10700K, 32GB RAM, RTX4070 12GB, 1 x 1TB SSD, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1x 2TB HDD, Win10 64bit Home, Meta Quest 3
August 18, 20223 yr I jumped under the bus by thinking this could be a good solution. I was quite wrong. It is not what I expected for $50. Definitely a pass if you haven't purchased yet. Edited August 18, 20223 yr by the_simpilot

August 18, 20223 yr I've also Purchased it and made around 5 flights now. It's basically PRO ATC X, Very little changes, in fact I'd go as far to say that it's possibly just a port of the old software with a small few adjustments to make it work with MSFS2020. So if you have used PRO ATC X before then you pretty much much already have all the info you need to decide on a purchase. I used PROATC X for P3D a lot and I'm finding pretty much the same issues. My main issues at the moment are that almost every flight I lose radio contact on final, I'm handed off to tower at the marker and when I make contact they never reply this happens all the way to the gate, no contact from ATC once on tower. Also one of the few new features is the simbrief import, which simply just does not work for me. My ID is correct and when I click import it does nothing, no error or flight plan imported. Frustratingly some users on the PRO ATC Forums claim to have solved the issue but have not said how. The big new feature which is Voice Recognition is very basic, I think it's only actually listening out for key words in a reply because quite often it will accept what you are reading back before you have finished and start with its next set of replies. So I've stopped using SR for now. I have sent log files off and have been informed the developer is looking into them, this also raises the same old concerns many had about the old version. The mods on the PROATC forum do their best to help people out and reply within a few hours of a post but there is only so much they can do. The developer is no where to be seen, not a single post on their forums is by the developer. Also there doesn't seem to be a new forum or sub forum for the new version, this makes the forum really messy and hard to navigate. It's probably not the developers intention but from a customers point of view of does look very lazy. It's not all bad though, it does do some things I really like. Assigning dynamically SIDS and STARS, I was surprised last night on a flight into EGSS, I haven't set up any published holds yet, which can be done in the data section, but I was assigned one at a fix anyway due to heavy traffic. I wasn't held for long and it just added to the realism. I Have all the known ATC software for both MSFS and P3D and I'm sure no other software assigns dynamic holds. The chatter between the AI and controllers is nice, I know its not actually controlling them but it does give a good illusion that they are. The voices which is subjective is passable for me. Best atc ever Vatsim is OK if you don't mind starting and or finishing a flight talking to yourself on Unicomm, 75% of the time.

Yep, I gave up on it also, not worth the hassle, went back to keys and clicks. I hate the way the option to read weather from AS3PD is gone as that removes the possibility to fly with historic weather. The 'read sim weather' option simply just does not work. I also hate that you cannot close the 'In Flight Window' with the latest UI. 3 hours ago, Andayle said: Also there doesn't seem to be a new forum or sub forum for the new version, this makes the forum really messy and hard to navigate. Agree it's a mess. However the fact that each and every post has to be validated by a mod before it appears totally kills any flow or spontaneity for the useful exchange of views or help for any of it's users. 3 hours ago, Andayle said: The developer is no where to be seen, not a single post on their forums is by the developer. Never was and it appears that, that is not going to change anytime soon. It is a thundering disgrace for all of Pointsoft's customers who paid out good money for this product and receive little or no support afterwards. But, I suppose we are all somewhat to blame, in that we knew what to expect and we still paid out more!! As the old saying goes:- " Fool me once, shame on you. August 18, 20223 yr Hi, I installed PATC SR on a networked computer and use MSFS. Under Options -> Flight plan folders, in the "Simulation path" box, I enter the path where my FlightSimulator.exe file is located, but I get the message "Flight simulator folder not found"! What folder should I point at? Thank you. James Goggi

Specially interested to hear if P2ATC really assigns STAR etc. during cruise (if you don't plan one during preflight) and if it change the expected one depending on the weather!
