@Ray Proudfoot apology and no need to shout to an old timer Ray 😉 It's not done on purpose 😨

Andre, I know you didn’t do it on purpose and sorry if I highlighted your post as an example but when you’re going through topics and see it so often it is irritating.

I capitalised the message so it would catch people’s eye. I trust no one was offended with my Anglo-Saxon language. 😉

@Ray Proudfoot I understand your point and as I said apologies for any inconvenience I may have caused with my quotes...

But it's the nature of the forum stuff, maybe a reply button at the bottom of the post (instead of quote) which automatically links to the post?

I remember playing FS on a borrowed Apple II and then having one called IFR Flight Simulator on my VIC-20. Moving on to the Commodore 64 and the 128 and games from MicroProse (Solo Flight, F-15 Strike Eagle, Acrojet, Gunship, Kennedy Approach) and SubLogic were next. Forty years later, here we are. It's all been fun along the way and it's nice that it continues to get better!

Highlight the relevant text and a popup appears with “Quote selection”. Dead easy to use. 😉

Wow two years have flown by (sorry!)

I am sure that everyone has their own story.. but for me,  MSFS proved itself when, in addition to the great scenery, Rob Young touched up the G36 Bonanza and WT released the G1000NXi.  Next events for me, were the TDS GTN750Xi and the RV14A.

At that point, I retired P3D V5 🙂

There was a memorable prediction that MSFS would "go down like the Titanic". Well, a freeware driveable add-on version of that ship is available and it floats -- as does MSFS itself, flying high after two years!

True 🤣

Well clearly that doesn't work in the flow of forum users otherwise it wouldn't be an issue for you guys 😉

So as I have a different opinion here about that approach, which could be far more convenient for the user and the forum admins and happy to discuss further via PM 😉

Anyway of to enjoy MSFS 🙂

Write to @Bob Scott. 👍 I’m just a lowly moderator. 😁

MSFS can only get better with time.

Let's be honest, before MSFS came out, most, if not all of us never thought a sim would depict the whole world with such gorgeous graphics and with great performance in mind, I for one didn't think so, not this soon anyway.

Thanks Asobo for such masterpiece!

Yes, but they need to do something about the edges of clouds. They are still pixelated for some crazy reason. It may not look too bad on small desktop monitors for the desktop simmers but when you have a full size cockpit and the 3 projectors are being displayed @ over 100" each it becomes an extremely pixelated eyesore.

I came to MSFS from XP11, and before that FSX (and FS2004 etc.). I watched the first trailer in disbelief as I thought the product was hyped and that there would be no way they would be able to pull it off.

Well, they did. So congratulations on the 2 year anniversary. I pretty much shelved X-Plane after starting to use MSFS. It's not been a walk in the park however. Bugs, regressions, weird default airplane behaviour, even weirder autopilot and default avionics behaviour, and perhaps even weirder than that is the (still) bizarre behaviour of AI traffic.

But... I've persisted because the sim is just too good. I've been all over the world, in places that was pointless to visit in previous sims. And recently I've also started a world trip. Every day I keep getting gobsmacked by how good the sim looks (granted I've done my fair share of tweaks to make it look as good as possible). And I keep getting impressed by the ground textures in far away places. Who would have thought that Kyrgyzstan could look this good in a sim?

I think the sim really had a "golden age" in May this year with the introduction of "study-level" airliners. I did a fair bit of airliner flying in both the PMDG 737-700 and the Fenix A320, but now I'm, more than happy in various GA aircraft like the SWS Kodiak and the FSW Cessna 414.

I've joined the SU10 beta and seen it evolve (or devolve depending on your viewpoint), and I'm very excited for the autumn and where Asobo is able to take the sim, especially in terms of further work on the weather model as well as DX12.

For more than 2 years (since the alpha) I’m in love with the twin Earth. So, even with some issues, there’s no other option for me.

Jörg’s vision concurs with my own vision of what a Flight Simulator should be. Easy entry point, but flexible enough to allow high fidelity planes (Fenix).

But I have to say, it’s been a nice ride so far.
