September 24, 20223 yr Hi, I have a shortcut on my desktop to a folder where I can access the Content.xml file. Now I updated to SU10 and deleted the Content.xml file so the sim can recreate it, however now after loading the sim and checking the folder the sim does not create a Content.xml file anymore. Anyone else have this issue? September 24, 20223 yr As far as I know, the Content.xml file is no longer used by MSFS 2020 after SU10 System: i7-10700K, 32GB RAM, RTX4070 12GB, 1 x 1TB SSD, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1x 2TB HDD, Win10 64bit Home, Meta Quest 3
September 24, 20223 yr With SU10 on, the way the content.xml file worked has changed and now it only works when you need to set "priorities" for the loading of your add-ons into the sim. Here there's an interesting article that helps to explain the new way (from Navigraph, but it applies to every add-on) this file works: https://forum.navigraph.com/t/su10-and-new-context-xml/9288 Cheers, Ed MSFS2020 Steam // Rig: Corsair Graphite 760T Full Tower - ASUS MBoard Maximus XII Hero Z490 - CPU Intel i9-10900K - 64GB RAM - MSI RTX2080 Super 8GB - [1xNVMe M.2 1TB + 1xNVMe M.2 2TB (Samsung)] + [1xSSD 1TB + 1xSSD 2TB (Crucial)] + [1xSSD 1TB (Samsung)] + 1 HDD Seagate 2TB + 1 HDD Seagate External 4TB - Monitor LG 29UC97C UWHD Curved - PSU Corsair RM1000x // Thrustmaster FCS & MS XBOX Controllers
September 21, 20232 yr It sounds like you are encountering an issue with the Content.xml file not being recreated in SU10 after deleting it, when previously the sim would generate this file in the shortcut folder. In that case, I would like a few things to try: - Restart the sim and check if Content.xml is generated after launching again. Sometimes a restart can trigger file recreation. - Ensure the folder shortcut is still valid and pointing to the correct local package location. The sim may fail to write files if the target folder path changed. - Check permissions on the target shortcut folder. The sim needs write access to generate Content.xml there. Try running the sim as administrator. - As a test, point the shortcut to the default Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder location and see if Content.xml generates there. - Repair the game through Origin. There may be some corruption preventing proper file creation. - Try moving the Package folder out, deleting localthumbcache.package, then restarting. This can reset package caches. - If nothing works, you may need to do a fresh reinstall of the game. If one of the solutions above works, please let me know. Good luck! The individual who says it is not possible should move out of the way of those doing it

September 22, 20232 yr I must have some mistakes. Thank you everyone for the reminders The individual who says it is not possible should move out of the way of those doing it
September 24, 20232 yr Content.xml is no more present at my MSFS, only a old backup copy I made of it, is still remaining.
September 24, 20232 yr If content.xml is present, MSFS will still load it. You can also change the loading order in General Options/Experimental/Package Reorder Tool If you have the content.xml file, you will notice that the items from content.xml are at the bottom of the list (loaded last) AMD 7 7700X, 32GB DDR5, RTX 5060ti 16GB, 2 x Samsung 1TB NVMe, 1 x 4TB sata SSD, Windows 11 Prof

Not trying to say that this is the case here, but it would explain misunderstanding "the sim" for Sims 4 by EA. September 24, 20232 yr This is one of many old threads that have been resurrected lately, and most of these were resurrected by new members, often by their first posts. I don't know of this is possible or desired on these forums but perhaps these older threads should be labelled as inactive. Some forums have disabled the quickreply option on the bottom of these threads and have put a warning in place. It should still be possible to add a reply but a little less convenient so people are made aware they are about to resurrect an old thread. It might even be a good idea to restrict new members to create new threads or reply to active threads only.
