Does anybody know of any flip-phones that are just phones with no games, no GPS, no APPs,

If it has a few features you don't want, you don't have to use them Noel. Delete the games and applications if you like.

I don't think so, I don't know what we have in our area.  I just assume we have everything everyone else has.

I was thinking of this but maybe I misunderstood:

"When my wife had to get a new phone to replace her old flip phone because the old one wouldn't work in 5G she opted for a flip phone"

Dugald Walker

Yeah, Dave, I did say that.  And I got her a new flip-phone.  I guess we do have 5G.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Charlie, that's exactly how I used to pronounce it when talking to my collegues in Denver.  They finally adopted the same pronounciation while talking to me.

My aunt calls it Target (tar-jay or Targè ) kind of in jest.  Maybe there's Targè in Cornwall, just like a St. Ives...

@birdguy yes you can get a flip-phone, in fact, I hear flip phones are making a come back of sorts.   My 2006-era LG flip phone lasted until early 2022.  At that point I decided to see what the fuss was all about and purchased an iphone.   It's ok, but I don't really get the hype as to smartphones.   I feel as you do, I just want to call people, and have a list of people I might want to call.  Is it possible for me to join you in being  a Luddite, being GenX and building my own PC's?   Yet, here I am.  A phone Luddite maybe.

However I have discovered a few apps, like a weather radar app, that I find useful.  It never rains in Roswell so that is right out for you.  Then I also downloaded a head-tracker app which I play around with in conjunction with flight sim, which sure beats wearing some weird apparatus on my head or attached to my headphones.  And then of course these days, if I have the temerity to suggest going to a Cardinal game, no smartphone, no go kemosabe, there's almost no such thing as paper tickets, I have to download the "MLB App"....ugh, what a hassle.
