Kai Tak

Featured Replies

How does the new included Kai Tak compare to the one on Flightsim.to?

Also is anyone seeing two runways on the new included ones?

If you want a marvelous rendition of old Kai Tak, look for this one, payware:

I haven't tested the SU11's Kai Tak by Asobo, but I doubt is at the same quality level than the above.

Cheers, Ed

I haven't used any of the other Kai Tak addons for MSFS but I've just loaded into the one that now comes with the latest update and took some screenshots for you: https://imgur.com/a/etTWiS6

Hi Ed, actually some users recommended Asobo version over Model-Instrument version. Maybe you should try both options for yourself to share your observations with us.

I have this issue, more notable on RWY31.

P.D: I’m have installed SamScene 3D Hong Kong City times.

I don't see the checkerboard in the hills.

Being visual with that was a vital part of the post ILS procedure.

Will do. Thanks!

The checkerboard is present in the Asobo version.

I'll stick with my Redwing Sim version of Kai Tak.

Thanks for the screenshots.🍻

I'm no expert on the real airport but frankly there's so little difference to me that I'm sticking with the Asobo version. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone goes for a payware version if they don't already have one.

Does the MSFS default navdata or the Navigraph data include approaches etc for VHHX?  I just checked the Navigraph charts app and it doesn't have charts...I thought perhaps it had been included in the navdata?

EDIT: To answer my own question I found a post on the Navigraph forum from January that says it's in the Navdata/Simbrief but not yet the charts.  I think I see an A310 flight into VHHX as my next adventure!

I have this and it's very good!

Hoping FLY Tampa does a new version at some point!

My favorite approach of any AP in both sims!

Seeing two Runways too, I'm using SamScene with new Asobo Kai Tak , also used the model instruments. Two runway issue while using both.

v1.7.0:
– Compatibility with Kai Tak airport
– Compatibility with SU11
– Added Lion Rock shape model
– Added Shun Tak Heliport starting point
– Improved Shun Tak building model texture
– Added Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link

Warning: Using this scenery with Model Instrument VHHX airport causes conflicts with the Kai Tak cruise terminal, to fix it follow the info on the Model Instrument site.

If you're using Navigraph, make sure to update your navdata, it's also causing a double runway issue, they released a hotfix for it.
