I don’t watch or care much for soccer but out of the few games and World Cups I’ve seen, that was definitely the most exciting one ever.

Just when you’d think France was out of it, they’d come back and make OT. Then come back at the end of OT and make it to a shoot out. 

Although I was rooting for France, I’m happy for Messi since this will be his last WC. I have no allegiance to either team or country and was rooting for France merely because I’ve been to both countries and like France better.

Being truthful it was a one-sided rather dull game until France had their first attempt on goal in the 71st minute. But it wasn’t until the 80th minute that things became interesting. Thereafter it was highly entertaining.

Mbappe will get another chance of winning but Messi won’t. Didn’t like the gamesmanship by the Argentinian keeper. Unnecessary. Congratulations to Argentina. 👏

I wonder if Saudi Arabia will claim part of the cup as they were the only team to beat the eventual champions. 😁

Yeah it was pretty boring up to that point and I didn’t think that France was going to recover to get to overtime. Once it was tied I was a very exciting match all the way up to the end. If football/soccer was always that exciting I’d probably watch it more, but for me it’s usually as exciting as watching paint dry, just like hockey and baseball are for me.

I wondered if that bug had had a bigger impact than had been reported. That might come out in the next few days.

Most games aren’t that interesting but if your team wins you’re not too bothered. Fortunately for me the team I support tends to play exciting football so few games are dull.

Flight AR1915, carried out with an Airbus A330-202 (LV-FVH) which has a special livery for the event, departed from the Doha apt and at 14.36 (LT) will arrive at the Rome Fiumicino apt for a technical stop. The departure for Buenos Aires is scheduled for 15.30 (LT).
Currently, the Flightradar24 website indicates that flight AR1915 is over the Mediterranean Sea heading towards Greece.

I followed flight AR1915 on Flightradar24 and as an eyewitness I saw, a little while ago, the A330 passing by landing at the Rome apt Fiumicino to make a technical stop and then leave to fly with a long flight to Buenos Aires which will reach after about 14 hours of flight.

Obviously in Argentina and beyond, the celebrations have begun for an event that was awaited by the Argentines for 36 years after the victories at the 1978 World Cup at home and that of 1986 in Mexico.

Massive crowds are expected to celebrate the world champion team along the various routes planned in Buenos Aires, where the party started after the last penalty that gave the victory to the "Albiceleste".

Since the plane passed over Rome, I would like to mention two curiosities: the first concerns the "most illustrious Argentine" who is obviously very fond of the Argentine team that lives in Rome... Pope Francis who didn't see the match on TV not because something prevented him but because of a vow made on 15 July 1990, a few days after Argentina's defeat in the Italia 90 final but football it has to do. He made a vow to the Virgin of Carmel, saying: "TV is not for me" and he hasn't seen TV since.

The football results, even those of his favorite team, San Lorenzo Almagro, which he went to see as a child at the stadium and whose he had the card of the archbishop of Buenos Aires, they are supplied to him by a Swiss guard who delivers the results to him every week.

The second curiosity, perhaps to celebrate the team, is that currently the sky over Rome is veiled with white stripes and with the blue of the sky look like the white-celestial stripes of the shirts used by the Argentinian players.
