The 310 is still in rough shape. Pressurization broken, TOD calculation broken, legs pages are tied together on both CDUs for some reason, speed restrictions are out of sequence. Back to the hangar it goes I guess.

Very disappointed to hear this

I have had CTDs (although not recently) in the past,  but I don't ever recall one that I could attribute to ATC. If I were to have CTDs related to ATC, I would start looking at my sound system. That is the one thing that ATC uses that might cause a problem.

I'm sort of a clean freak when it comes to my system. I regularly clear out temporary files delete shader caches, and scenery indexes. I used the ad on Linker and keep very few items linked to the community folder. Navigraph and GSX are the only things that stay in there permanently.

@Dillon since you are having so many problems I would suggest making sure that Windows is set up to create crash dump files. Maybe it is? Try searching your C drive (with subfolders) for *.dmp and sort the results by date. You should be able to determine the faulting application by the file names. If you didn't get any search results enable crash dumps in Windows. At least you might be able to get a clue as to what's going on.

No, I don't use it very often, as it isn't very good, but when I have tried it, it has been alright.
My last CTD was so far back I can't remember it.  Worst I have had lately is failure to load due to some Carenado aircraft conflicting with an early beta, fixed in a quick update and all fine now.
The sim obviously still has issues, like all sims do (find me a perfect one), but I don't know what the 'host of other issues' are that you refer to.

The sim certainly has issues to be fixed with a lot of aircraft, ATC, and the AI traffic, but in general, it works for me, and I am enjoying it in the main - certainly the best sim I have had, and I have tried them all.  It is certainly well worth what I have paid for it.

Now, as for your attitude in your post, with the angry face and the misplaced blame directed towards other simmers testing the beta, if you want to help things, join the beta yourself and report them, but let me get one thing straight - I fly my sim the way I want to, not the way you might want me to, so if this whole thing, including a lot of absolutely free stuff, is stressing you out too much, just uninstall it - delete it.   Don't bother with this 'one size fits all sim', go and find another sim that suits your purpose (good luck), and don't bring that kind of attitude towards me, almost like blaming beta testers because they don't spot the same issues that you might.

First off, I've been on the beta more than a few times.  I had one instance that hosed my machine up, so I've backed out of the last few.  Concerning my attitude, it's quite the contrary.  You have people seaming to gloat that they're not having the issues others are having.  As has been said in the past, "just because you're not seeing the problem doesn't mean it's not there".  I've had to go back and make sure I'm sensitive to issues others are having.  Knock on wood, if you're getting along fine great but don't delegitimize other simmers.  Not saying you're doing this, but I've seen this and when we're all on that side of the tracks it's frustrating.

My main problem this time around is for a long time MSFS ran fine on my system.  All the way up to SU10.  Now with SU11 it's gone to 'unstable hell' and to hear some are saying it's fine is frustrating.  I can't be the only one seeing some of these issues.  I'm still testing the new SU11 update and things are looking a bit better but like I said I'm the guy on the other side of the tracks with this one.  It seems we're all in flying camps now (VFR, IFR, Heavy aircraft fliers, Private jet pilots, bush, etc.).  FS is so vast in how we use it, it really depends on how you use the sim to see certain issues.  If you're in a nitch experience, then you're really left in the cold with some of this.  I've been flying mostly private jet routes as of late.  Using mainly the Longitude (WT G3000, FSRealistic, default flight planner, using the Fly To feature, etc).  It seems most don't use the sim like this so the problems I'm seeing many won't see.  I will say initial SU11 performance for airliner flying with the Fenix A320/FBW A320 in airports like KATL was terrible compared to SU10.  This has since been fixed with the SU11 patch.👍

In short I apologize😐 for coming across harsh it's just frustrating to see where the sim was at in SU10 and where it's at in SU11 for the way I fly.  Again as I'm testing the SU11 patch things have improved with CTD's and ATC.  Still trying to see if AI Live Traffic is at least where it was in SU10.

There is no need to move anything. Just rename Community (temporarily), start MSFS and let it create a new Community folder, do the install, exit, remove the blank Community folder, change the name of your temporary folder back to Community, and restart MSFS. (Or better yet, use Addon Linker).

This was my was of doing things as well until SU11.  Doing what I outlined above improved the issues I was seeing.  Now that we are on the patched version of SU11 things might be back to where what you wrote here is perfectly acceptable now.

Thanks MDFlier.👍

Things have improved greatly with the SU11 patch.  I'm a clean freak as well and clean up my computer often as you described here.

I haven't noticed any issues with ToD calculation.

And I have, twice in a row now.

Can i recommend when you start your flight for the first time just get into the habit of going to the panel states and "reset" it to your preferred mode before you actually start your pre flight. I had some repeating hydraulic issues with the A310 and i decided to "reset" the panels going forward as the very first thing to do when i use it. No issues since then.

What is this pressurisation issue you are experiencing?

I never experience prior to the update any issues with pressurisation other than operator error (myself 😳). I often forgot to turn of the starter selector so that the bleed air is again available for the pressurisation system.

I've had my share of instability issues with this sim, and it can be super-frustrating. Just after I upgraded my mb and cpu this summer, I was haunted by "memory could not be read" CTDs for several months. The CTDs could happen anytime - with or without addons, independent of sim settings, windows settings, etc.

What helped a bit was that I found a thread on the official forum with people having the same (or a similar) issue. That was great as people tried to sort things out together.

Eventually the CTDs just vanished and luckily the sim has been stable recently (unless I use reshade). The main issues that I have at the moment are:

  • ATC seems very buggy. Sometimes it cuts out mid-sentence, or it cannot be heard at all. I've been flying mostly the A310 and the Fenix recently, so could be related to that.
  • AI traffic - very few landings when using FSLTL + occasionally AI traffic stack on top of each other at the centre of the airport.
  • DX12 ground textures. I guess DX12 is still in beta, so some issues should be expected. The missing ground textures don’t happen all the time luckily.

I don't see any difference between renaming Community vs. moving everything out -- the former is just easier (plus some folks have reported problems in moving files from Community). But, whatever works is fine.

are you talking about having to use the speed break to keep up with the V-DEV after descending? Because that's accurate to the real aircraft according to some people. It was notoriously bad.

For me ATC starts the screw up once the 'Disconnection' message comes up (especially over cities).  For that reason I've stayed away from Airliner flying and fly the Longitude into smaller airports.  In SU10 network disconnection had no effect on ATC but now it does.  Also I found if I don't close out the sim after a default flight planned route before I start a new flight ATC will screw up.  Rule of thumb now for IFR flight always close out the sim and restart the sim for a new flight.  No issues with non-ATC VFR flight.😐

Am I the only one having Live Weather issues since the update - when I start the flight I have no clouds - there appear to be winds and baro - but when I look at the reported metar for somewhere where I know its raining and cloudy the metar in game says clear......
