This could/should have been x-plane 12 - more than plausible

And decided that its mildly amusing.

What kind of society thinks it's amusing when their bad manners are called out? You basicly spat WT in the face. And you think reactions to that is "mildly amusing". That's pure school yard antics.

. And why would MSFS need funding from MS if it's making money?

ROI, discussed in the thread already a few pages back.

sales take (a long) time to pay off an investment in R&D, those 200 or whatever employees for 5 or 6 years before msfs was even announced needed paying for plus profit.

No, [it appears] they withdrew funding in/around January 2021, and that Asobo have been paying for it all themselves since then "to preserve their creative autonomy"

So, Microsoft allegedly withdrew funding to Asobo for MSFS a mere 4 months after it released - (before it even moved to XBox) - and all the work Asobo has done since then has been for free? Microsoft has been reaping all the revenue from MSFS sales and Marketplace add-ons, and paying Asobo nothing for all the sim and world updates they have done since January of 2021?

That is an assertion that is absurd beyond words.

Correct. The person in question knows not what he speaks and only speculates. He's been called out, but as usual, he loves to troll to no end and people bite. I still hold out hope one day people will learn to ignore him, because he can't seem to help himself from baiting others (the bets are huge he responds to this very post with more mouth garbage). Learn to not respond when he tries to rope you in, people. 🙂

I can confirm from discussions with various devs contracted in current projects for MSFS that Microsoft is shelling out 7 figure sums to some dev houses, and is still fully invested. I have no skin in the game for MSFS, but to imply Microsoft has abandoned it because of lame assumptions as msparks has stated is just something that people should ignore here. You're wasting your time.

abandoned it

depends what you mean by "it".

We're talking about WASM, the core sim and 3rd party devs under the original terms here, while interesting (and fairly obvious, given the multiple 3PDs that are now 1st party devs) nothing you just said contradicts anything I said about them or whether WASM for 3PDs will be available on XBOX come March (and it could well be, I just doubt it).

So you think the PMDG DC6 will finally be on XBOX come April 2023?

Then why are they still holding Q&A sessions together?

Because everything is still owned by Microsoft

Laminar Research customer -- Asobo/MS customer -- not an X-Aviation customer - or am I? 😉

There's also inibuilds and one or two others I don't see mentioned in that article that gave up being 3rd parties to get on XBOX iirc.

Ahhh, cos that was back earlier this year

Are the mods on holiday?

In many years I added one person to my ignore list.  This one thread has seen another seven go on it.  I want to discuss XP12, not this drivel.  I really don't understand why anybody that doesn't like X-Plane is in this forum.  I use MSFS, but I don't see the level of vitriol over there.
