December 19, 20223 yr It's such an exciting week...the stockings are hung with care over the fireplace, and the tree is shining brightly. Christmas songs are being heard in the background, and my anticipation is growing more and more every single day. I don't know if the present I REALLY want will appear on my computer screen Christmas day, but, I'm sure hoping it will be there.. I'm looking forward to a special gift from Lockheed Martin. It would be so wonderful to receive that gift because there will be much relaxing, leisure time after Christmas, and the timing couldn't be better for that special BIG DOWNLOAD (if you know what I mean). Merry Christmas, LM. Hope I see you on Christmas morning (or sooner). Stan

I noticed that in the release announcement on Flight 1 there is more than one mention that the new 737 Max will work on the P3d 5.3+. Could mean 5.4 or 6.0. They'd be crazy to release V6 right before the holidays though, so I'm guessing Q1/Q2 next year.
December 20, 20223 yr I'm guessing never. It would be too little too late. Pete Locascio Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, Nvidia RTX 5090, Samsung 9100 Pro 2&4 TB Drives, 64 GB RAM, Asus Z-890 motherboard.
December 20, 20223 yr Military contractors really get their nickers in a twist if they don't get their holiday excitement and anticipation for new toys fulfilled. They might even drone your house if they are are on the naughty list and the P3D team will end up being the lump of smoking coal, so I say delivery is immanent! I don’t think it will matter as the P3D commercial market is nearly nonexistent; V6 would have to be a massive leap forward to change the current market paradigm. Given the incremental updates over the last 12 years, that’s incredibly unlikely to happen. There was just a new aircraft released from a reputable developer, which only generated 4 pages of traffic, most of which consisted of one poster taking about repaints. The market just isn’t there anymore; so, I’m not sure I’d advocate for a version 6 as there’s zero guarantee developers will update their existing products, or create new products to support it. Most seem to have shifted to MSFS. Edited December 20, 20223 yr by kingm56 Matt King
December 20, 20223 yr Commercial Member I guess it's the season of miracles but my money is on "no" Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
December 20, 20223 yr Q1 There are plenty of active P3D users that don't typical visit this website where the focus seems to be MSFS.
December 20, 20223 yr Commercial market non-existent? I think you maybe mean consumer market. You nor I have any idea what the commercial / government market is for LM, which according to their TOS and licensing IS their primary market. December 20, 20223 yr Didn't we have one of these threads for your birthday as well? LM doesn't plan their releases around holidays and your life events although it is a nice thought... No, I doubt they would release something which has a commercial focus over what is typically a freeze period in the commercial world... Just my opinion Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
December 20, 20223 yr The won't make a huge release like this one when all developers will be at holiday spending time off and not fixing normal after-release bugs. Ramon De Valencia AMD 9950X3D / 64GB DDR5 6000MHz / RTX 5090 / 1200 watt PSU MSFS 2020 and 2024

How many commercial vendors need to repeat the same message? Who cares if there’s a government market as that doesn’t translate to after market add-ons for entertainment users. Would you use V6 with limited add-on aircraft, Chase plane, Active Sky, virtual Copilot, and the multiple other third party apps that’s required to create a realistic simulation environment? There’s no market to justify vendors wasting the development time to bring their products to V6; plus, most of their timelines are already set for the next year, or more. P3D is the modern FS9 and FSX and it’s doubtful V6 is going to change that paradigm. There’s a dedicated small base; yet, not enough to justify new products going forward. You have to hope V6 is backwards compatible; and if it is. Is it really a leap forward? If it’s not, are you ok with limited third party applications to support your simming needs? FS9 users seem content with using decades old addon; P3D users will have to ok with the same paradigm going forward. Edited December 20, 20223 yr by kingm56 Matt King
