Live trafic doesnt work since the day they sold us that live traffic worked. The besto thing we have is: PSXT + Realtraffic FSLTL and AIG also but with terrible STAR and SID. Also movements into the airport depending from MSFS are really crazy and not good. Someday, Lorbylivetraffic maybe will return. December 21, 20223 yr Everything about traffic is messy, AI and Live. The last few days i played around a bit with Live traffic (all AI traffic set to zero), Flightradar 24 and LiveATC. Started FR24, picked an airport, started LiveATC, picked a corresponding airport radiochannel, started MSFS, turned on nameplates, went to the same airport, went into drone mode and positioned myself so i could have a good overlook on the airport. FR24 and LiveATC nicely match, you can hear the controller say like: "airplane xxx, line up and wait" and then see the same plane in FR24 turn onto the runway and hold, ready for take-off. FR24 just runs a few secs behind But with MSFS things are just a hit and miss. Lot's of nameplates for aircraft that are nowhere on FR24, not even on the arrival/departure list and this with all AI traffic and multi-player airplanes turned off. Now and then an airplane shows up witch matches with FR24/LiveATC but then often isn't in sync with the FR24/LiveATC data, like 3th for take-off while in real life the same airplane is ready for take-off and then the aircrafts before and after don't match anything in FR24. Tried also with FSLTL which says that it's data comes from FR24 but that ain't no better. It's the same mess. Lot's of go-arounds also, in FR24 the exact same aircraft lands, in MSFS it makes a go-around, even on a empty totally runway. If a few of them do that the airport's airspace is surrounded with low flying aircraft that did a go-around. For a game that calls itself "THE" flightsimulation, this part is't exactly well done. December 21, 20223 yr All I know about this is that there is a considerable delay between the real world and the sim. I heard about 30 minutes, but it might be even more. Moreover, MSFS is reducing the traffic if the user machine is too slow. I always see way too few planes in comparison to real life. The besto thing we have is: PSXT + Realtraffic That is correct, after months of trying anything out there I resource to this tool and I have no regret (9 bucks a month well spend!). I recommend using it with the AIG and FSLT models for correct model matching. I must honorably mentioned the other free AI tool called ELT (https://flightsim.to/file/17289/enhanced-live-traffic), the only issue with this one is the jerky movement of the AI objects. I wish they could put more development time like PSXT did in smoothing the movement and landings of the AI objects.

December 21, 20223 yr They made live traffic worse with SU11, and I don't mean model mismatches (that started with SU10). Pre-SU11 Aircraft that were already in the air followed positional data from Flightaware, but with SU11 they decided to make them follow generated flight plans instead. I've also seen live flights take off that shouldn't be taking off for an hour or more, or flights arriving hours before they should. Edited December 21, 20223 yr by Tuskin38

Agree, I dont think the move by Asobo to make them follow flightplans is so smart (obviously they were looking a quick dirty solution to the delay arrival/departure issue they had previously). However it is now worser than before IMHO (airlines almost never depart/arrive according their scheduled times anyway). I still keep hope they will come with a right solution in the future..
December 22, 20223 yr I think FSLTL is perfectly acceptable for my purposes. Now i didn’t check to see if my daughter’s recent flight was captured live and accurate in the sim, but i do see a lot of planes landing, taxiing and taking off, and the liveries are believable. December 22, 20223 yr I use PSXT + Real Traffic and for the audio I use VLC Player with a 60 second delay (Tools/Track Synchronization/Audio Track Synchronization) with LIiveATC.net as the source. Almost exact. I also use FSTL base models and had the AIG kit loaded but got tired of seeing incomplete textured aircraft, so I removed AIG. One key thing you need to remember is the sim needs to be in real time.

They aren't animated much in MSFS that I see, but do work for me when I request them in PMDG aircraft. And as far as I know, there isn't a "Live" traffic addon that we are discussing here that interacts with the default ATC. Doubt that will ever happen.

If you run PSXT the jetways are not working for any AI planes that i could see. The AI planes are just parked at the gates but nothing happens. With FSLTL you can see the jetways connect and disconnect from the AI planes. Also, because PSXT is completely outside of MSFS, any ATC (default, add-ons, etc.) is blind to PSXT’s traffic. No warnings from ATC about inbound planes, holding short, etc. With FSLTL and something like Pilot2ATC, ATC tells you that you are number 3 to takeoff, or hold short for incoming traffic, and gives you traffic alerts in the air. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
