December 30, 20223 yr Finally got round to taking what I thought would be my first look at this new bird. Unfortunately loading into the sim at a ramp renders the aircraft cold and dead and there doesn't seem to be any option to get up and running quickly using Ctrl-E. the flight plan doesn't appear to autoload in the FMC either. I'm not averse to procedural start ups but I would prefer just to get up and flying as quickly as possible. Google hasn't revealed much other than YT videos - so, is it 1. Possible to actually do a quick start on this bird and bring the flight plan straight in the FMC. 2. Are there any decent, preferably printed/text rather than YT as to how to get up and running quickly. Many thanks.
December 30, 20223 yr I suggest you watch the excellent series of tutorials produced by the aircraft publisher, IniBuilds. That should answer most if not all your questions. -B

If I'm not mistaken (I never do it this way) you can select various startup scenarios from the EFB. The alternative is to turn all checklist assistance from the assistance menu and let the AI do all the start up stuff. This is explained in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuJ2k7c4h2I&list=PLzeFYXw62MgZWG518Qe3aqz_9wLIT_aRa&index=2
December 31, 20223 yr Getting ready to fly in the A310 can be done inside of 10 minutes really. Turn it on, import Simbrief FP via ACARS menu, begin IRS alignment, meanwhile choose departure runway and SID, load fuel, pax and cargo, finish the init and TO perf setup in the FMC while starting up the APU, and once the IRS alignement is done, you can pushback and startup. 5800X3D, 64GB 3200 RAM, 7900 XT 20GB

Using the checklists can also be your guide to learning the bird. Once you are comfortable with the checklists you can, perish the thought, chuck all the stuff that's "by the book" but not really needed to get ready for a flight in MSFS. Shhhh don't let the checklist police hear you but for sure learn the a310 its a rewarding and fun plane. Amazing it's just part of the sim, msfs has come a very long way indeed.
