January 9, 20233 yr Is this the beta or the standard version? Not clear. Does it replace the beta if it is the standard version? Thanks. John Wingold

If on your PC nothing works as on the PC's of others, you seem to have it borked seriously. What rendering settings are you using in X-Plane? What screen resolution? What GPU and CPU do you have? Are you using plugins? How many AI aircraft are active in X-Plane? What "cpu time" and "gpu time" (CTRL + SHIFT + F) values do you have? "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

(RC1) Release candidates always follow beta's. Edited January 10, 20233 yr by GoranM

What screen resolution? What GPU and CPU do you have? Are you using plugins? How many AI aircraft are active in X-Plane? What "cpu time" and "gpu time" (CTRL + SHIFT + F) values do you have? In Linux the FPS is a bit better than on Windows, hence why I'm eager to see this flickering issue get fixed. On Windows, the story is different. CPU time is high and I get poor FPS because of that. I have eliminated most of the possible culprints including plugins, orthoscenery, scenery packages (I can disable them easily using xOrganizer). Anything that has SASL brings the FPS down. 3D Vegetation halves the FPS. As far as graphics settings: - texture quality on max, SSAO to ultra, FSR off - AA to 2xMSAA, anisotropic filtering to 4x - cloud quality to max, shadow quality next to max, rendering distance next to max or max (doesn't make any difference to performance) - world objects density and vegetation density next to max, this is where the performance differences are visible, but even setting everything to the lowest setting doesn't improve things that much - draw parked aircraft off, 3d vegetation off (this alone halves the fps when on) Screen resolution is 2560x1080. No AI aircraft active. I will post CPU and GPU times once I get homem but I've even seen values of 0.6-0.7. Hardware: 5800X3D, RX6800, 32GB of RAM, SSD for X-Plane and the OS. FPS is around 30-40FPS with the Toliss A319 on the ground (with 3d vegetation off). In Linux it's a bit higher, but still mediocre. Setup: RX6800 | 5800X3D + B450 | 32GB 3200MHz | X-Plane 12

Even in the 30s (all sliders max, AA4x, FSR off) it is incredibly smooth-looking (though at 1080p). I honestly wouldn't know it was even dipping into the high 20s. Not seeing this veggie influence. I can toggle that back and forth with little to no impact. Odd that you're seeing a 50% drop? Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. January 10, 20233 yr I realized I wasn't near a bunch of veggies. I can recreate the FPS drop to a certain extent (not quite 50%) but had to get right up next to a bunch of trees and fill the screen w/ them. Otherwise I don't see quite that much. Never thought I'd see the day when flying in big cities gave better FPS! EDIT: and my linux vs win perf is now 46 and 42, respectively. That's running: --fps_test=5 --load_smo=Output/replays/test_flight_737.fps Not as big of a drop as it used to be.
