PMDG 737 Update

I can't wait for the EFB to be released so every new PMDG thread can stop derailing into a "I WANT AN EFB" or "WHERE IS THE EFB" topic.

To bring it up to date and in keeping with a modern simulator used by home gamers.

I read your post six times, and still can't make any sense out of it.

I think you understood it, but didn't like it.

No, it makes no sense at all. None!

Well, I read it once and it worked for me.

Jarmstro’s 100% correct. It needs an EFB for two reasons: 1.) I will suggest that 90%+ of ATP flight operated today anywhere in the World has at least ONE EFB on board. Not researched but I suspect my suspicions are pretty close to real, and 2.) Because PMDG already offers EFBs in the existing current P3d product line so they must have seen a reason. That reason alone compels PMDG to get off the dime and at  least deliver some specs/images of their current vision.

So PMDG are wasting their time devoting their resources writing an EFB?

me too 😆

never going to use it, but desperate for them to release it so we can move on

only thing I want to hear coming out of Randazzo towers from now is when the triple 7 is getting released

It's fine for users like you that think they need one, but you can't even explain exactly what you would do with it that you can't do now.

I wonder if they are going to have a 737 MAX in the future.

I can. Hopefully I won't have to spend my time trawling though 500 menus and options on the FMC just to set Kgs instead of lbs. I STILL can't remember where the hell the setting is.

I don't see any big mystery why we want an efb.

1. Ability to calculate Takeoff Speeds/Perf data at various weights.  And intersection departures.

2. Ability to use charts in the flight deck.  It's more immersive that way.  Same reason many of us buy hardware to do things like in the real airplane so we don't have to use mouse/keyboard.

I only know the US.  I can't think of a big airline not using EFB's to various extents.

The FMC in the 737 calculates takeoff and landing speeds already. I use Avliasoft EFB for all my charts, so that is something I would have no use for.

Not for intersection departures it doesn't.  Like many I prefer the efb regardless.  I recognize you may not have a need for an efb.  But it's odd to me that you cannot understand why others have the desire.
