It doesn't caluclate assumed temp derated take offs including shortened runway take offs. It's the only thing I want in an EFB. Other people may have other reasons for it but the FMC doesn't do these performance calculations. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

But it's odd to me that you cannot understand why others have the desire. Well I had one in the Fenix, and all I used was things that I can also do in the 737.

It doesn't to intersection takeoffs, but I never do those anyway. Runway behind me is useless. 😉

Thats how I got you beat by over 20 years as a PPL, and tied as a simmer and 40 years attending AOPA safety meetings.

I know you can but in order to get the correct assumed temp to enter into the CDU I need a performance calculator which will be in the EFB. You asked how I came up with that estimate. I told you. Since you are so credentialed you should have no difficulty in accepting that aviation thrives in technology and innovation. PMDG saw that and added EFBs to their flagship P3d fleet, so how is now different? Edited February 25, 20233 yr by btacon

February 25, 20233 yr Most exciting bit for me from this latest update: "And of course- a bunch of us are spending most of our time on the 777 production floor, which is also very exciting." Wish they'd hurry up and release at least some preview shots/videos of the 777 soon. February 25, 20233 yr Oh i had so much fun reading through this thread. Thank you for that. For the guys who are flying the 737-700 there is a great little app in the appstore called "TOPER free" it calculates intersection takeoffs, assumed temperature and derated takeoffs as well as takes into account wind, air pressure and temperatures, anti ice and packs. Only drawback is that its only for the 700. I am using it ever since and it serves me extremely well. You might want to give it a try. Happy landings!
