How do you do such a thing?

There ia also an option in the Steam UI under "Properties", if you are using the Steam variant.

Kind regards, Michael

2) use the -FastLaunch switch, either with a shortcut or batch file -- here's the target for the MS Store version:

cmd.exe /c start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App - FastLaunchcmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -FastLaunch

Thank you, it did the trick!

This isn't really news to me, MSFS is just the start. I can think of a ton of applications that can make use of this type of technology, and none of them are consumer-facing.

I disabled that after a week of using it, bypass all the ads for faster loading.

How do you do that, Ian?

Sorry, please delete.  I should have read the whole thread.

two ways I know of

1) use Addon Linker to start the sim, it has an option to turn those splash screens off.

2) use the -FastLaunch switch, either with a shortcut or batch file -- here's the target for the MS Store version:

cmd.exe /c start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App - FastLaunchcmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -FastLaunch

Another fast start strategy is to use Addons Linker and Content Manager in symphony with each other.  Arguments are expected, but here is my method.  First I have Addons Linker well organized.  And I only load liveries, addon scenery including airports, scenery assets (libraries), and aircraft mods relevant to the fiight I am about to take.  Nothing more.  And I do not load airport or city scenery that I will fly "over" at FL altitudes.  Then I also with Content Manager manage which World Updates I have installed.  I fly primarily North America and the Caribbean regions.  There are a couple of WU's that I understand may provide some global assets, so if I identify those  I may leave those WU's installed.  The remainder I do not.  I can install any of them in 5 minutes or less when the time comes to fly in the pertinent region.

My MSFS loads fresh from Windows desktop to the MSFS Main Menu in 1:40.  Less than two minutes!  And I have not even employed the spash screen bypass routine mentioned above.  So absolutely no reason for me not to restart the sim before my next flight.  It is just part of my pre-flight routine.

Isn't it already MSFS' current gen?

MSFS has been designed between 2017 and 2020 if I am not mistaken. The new product was announced yesterday.

Then I do not see any continuous progress in the MSFS autogen since my purchase. An example : the incongruous highrises I still see in smaller cities. I reckon that what we see in the sim  now is what we saw in 2020.

As any AI driven tech, specially when there is an interest from the military, geotypology is evolving to the better.

I think it would be more plausible as a P3D V6 to be benefiting from this presentation especially with the unreal engine involvement and Lockheed Martin announcing the implementation of new version of unreal engine in their simulation products a while  a go.

P3D V6

I do not disagree with you about the possibility of P3D v6 using this technology knowing  that Maxar also works with Lochkeed but this is another issue relevant to the P3D forum.

MsFS is already using this technology and MS and Asobo are no stranger to the Unreal Engine either. What is plausible is that they have in mind a new version of the sim sometime ahead. The economics dictates it.

Some might find this interesting.

The Blackshark guy mentions that Microsoft approached them in 2016 regarding using this new technology for an upcoming project. It is interesting to me that Microsoft had taken what was probably a rather large sum of money from Dovetail Games for the licence to use the FSX (and maybe MS Flight) technology to build a new flight simulator, and yet had every intention to blow Dovetail's product away with the development of their own revolutionary flight simulator using the finances that Dovetail had so kindly provided them.

I dunno. Maybe I am getting cynical in my old age?

My lord, how did I not know about this!  The hours of my life wasted watching the Asobo and Blacksquare flash vids! 😄

Thanks so much Mace.   Just popped it in a BAT file and worked a treat.
