MSFS delivers everything. It's in a class by itself, with the advantages outweighing the disadvantages/things still missing by a factor of, I dunno, 10000000.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to go back to a previous version, would be like exchanging a rib eye for a salisbury steak.

Yes frankly, it would give credibility to your comments.

At the moment what you say about MSFS can be filed under the ‘doesn’t know what he’s talking about’ section along with those others who post because they’ve “seen it on YouTube” or “my brother in laws uncle has it and I’ve watched it over his shoulder”.

You clearly missed my earlier post saying I see it every month at a flight sim meeting. There’s another this Saturday and I’ll see it and use it first hand. It isn’t necessary to own it to see how it works and to discuss the pros and cons with fellow simmers.

I don't really follow this point: how can you evaluate something that you haven't actually tried out for yourself?

I strongly suspect that once you actually install MSFS 2020, you'll drop that other sim like a bad habit.😉

I'm sure Microsoft still offers that one-month subscription deal, You'll be buying MSFS as soon as your trial subscription ends (be sure to buy the Premium deluxe version), and we will welcome you to the MSFS avsim family. 🙂

I use it every month on the computers of members of a flight sim group. They have powerful machines so can show it off very well.

I tried the DA62 but it was a very different experience to the Vertx DA62 in P3D. That might be down to very different hardware so I’ll pass judgement.

I won’t drop the sim I use because I can’t use the following in MSFS…

• Radar Contact v4
• FSL Concorde
• Active Sky
• Chaseplane.

I’ve never said I won’t buy it. For VFR sightseeing it’s great. But I rarely fly VFR preferring IFR.

And, you're right - stay where you are Ray, and I may end up joining you as soon as that 64 bit Concorde get's released...

I wouldn't be surprised if one of theses days ASOBO announced bringing back to live a worth of FSX legacy variables, instead of patching their already amalgamated flight dynamics model with even more "trash", like: Flaps 'add incidence' setting - MSFS DevSupport (flightsimulator.com)

 

I did a flight in the summer of 2021 from Albuquerque to SantaFe NM in which there was a perfectly-depicted isolated CB over the Jemez mountains north of ABQ. It probably topped out well above 35,000 to 40,000 feet and had an intense rain shaft beneath. I’ve never seen anything quite like it since. I’m not sure where the sim was (in terms of SUs) at the time.

You must have had a different version to me. I have not had a single problem with P3D itself for longer than I can remember. Stable as the Rock of Gibraltar.

The Vertx DA62 is a $40 add on.  The MSFS DA62 is a stock plane that comes with the sim so it's cost works out at around $1.50.  Considering the modelling and the avionics suite available for this stock plane that is a remarkable price and there's even a freeware mod available to further enhance it.

Why not compare the MSFS DA62 with the stock DA62 that comes with P3D?

Guys  come on whatever your grip  , Ray gives alot of his own time and effort to help run this site ( amongt others i think Ray ?) you may disagree sometimes but please be nice and respectfull , without people like Ray this community would be much much worse off
