March 14, 20233 yr @aniiran Thank you very much for the detailed analysis. I was almost becoming suspicious that this was too good to be true. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
March 14, 20233 yr I agree with @aniiran The scenery fills a gap at the moment and if you have the money to buy both this and Flightbeam then it's worth it (smart biz move on BMWORLD's part) simply because the default KPHX (even with the mod) was simply horrible. But there are issues with the scenery as he pointed out. Term 4 parking is not sized correctly and even the taxiways leading in and out of the gate area are not spaced correctly. Ground textures and parking markings are very basic and a lazy approach. Buildings are not the correct color. Close but still off if you know the airport. There is something floating on very short final to Rwy 8. Couldn't make it out. A fence perhaps? The worst thing for me are the shimmers. Everything shimmers at this airport and not sure how to prevent it. No runway wigwag or guard lights. Both elevated and in ground. A very prominent feature at the airport. Very bright at night in real life. Nonexistent in the scenery. I will note a positive - The taxiway bridges over SkyHarbor Blvd are done very well. Solid, level, with not bumps or hills. Many devs are not getting this right and so kudos for that. Another positive is the static vehicle traffic are mostly labeled with local phoenix logos (phx police, fire dept, PHX airport, etc).

Nonexistent in the scenery. This seems to be a common issue with a lot of sceneries. For LAX I actually had to show inibuilds that they were actually there. The in ground ones still aren't in the scenery and some other ERGLSs still haven't been placed. I wonder if there's some issue with the SDK that's preventing this. They are charted, FWIW. Jeff D. They do exist in some sceneries such as KSAT so I know it's possible.
March 14, 20233 yr Maybe KPHX needs a slogan for public relations? Nearby KABQ in New Mexico calls itself an International Sunport instead of Intenational Airport. It's terminals in distinctive 'Southwestern' architecture. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. I really enjoyed the Flightbeam P3D one back in the day, we will see how this stacks up when Flightbeam releases theirs's for MSFS Price point difference will make the difference for me for an airport I fly in/out of perhaps 2 to 3 times per year. Parker Van Zandt, the owner of Scenic Airways, in 1928. However, the reasoning for the name is apparently unknown." So I guess Phoenix was leading, instead of trailing the pack when it comes to naming their airfields. 😁 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. March 15, 20233 yr I contacted Alexy at BMWorld and he responded positively so I think we will get a revamp soon. Items I mentioned to him: terminal 3N (E gates) and 3S (F gates). I gave him every thing I had and he said they would make corrections. The buildings textures and make ramp lights that are accurate. The missing sleeve gates at B15A and B15 B will be added. The Wig Wag and Runway Guard lights Runway distance remaining markers. Get rid of the blue tron stripe on the PHX sky train. Looks cool but it is not realistic. I showed him the lights are on the inside of the track and they are white. The parking spots will be revamped so that you can taxi properly in the alleyways of terminal 4.
